@Brenda True, but this is a lifetime appointment, and [b]women’s[/b] lives will be in his hands. His character is an issue, especially if he’s ever indicated a dislike or disrespect for women. Especially if he’s assaulted women at [b]any[/b] point in his life. As much as some people dismiss it as “long ago”, that’s [b]not[/b] a normal thing “men just do”. So the only concern should be [b]if[/b] it’s credible that it happened, not it’s happening in the past.

Better questions might be...
1. With even the slightest [i]hint[/i] of 'scandal', why hasn't Kavanaugh 'offered' to withdraw his candidacy ? Even if he used the 'For the good of the country' cop-out ?
2. Why with all this mess taking up so much time,has Trump not withdrawn the guy's candidacy ?......You'd have thought there were more pressing things to take care of wouldn't you ?......Unless he's actually buying time or indeed, an inside man at the Supreme court for some reason.
3. Why this 'show' in front of Senate committee ? Knowing it will divide opinion and give constant ammunition to those with [i]any[/i] agenda ?
4. How on earth is the FBI supposed to investigate a few 'claims' ? What would the EVIDENCE in EITHER direction actually LOOK LIKE ? And then, How in the hell would you be able to PROVE it beyond a reasonable doubt ?
5. And whilst ALL this takes up airtime and column inches across every media platform, what else is going on that's NOT being reported ?

@SW-User It’s so lame if the FBI cannot do an investigation with approval from the president. 🙄 So freakin lame ass laws we have.
If I was Director Wray and I heard about an alleged rape or attempted rape, I would ask the president for permission to investigate the allegations. And I would investigate with or without his permission.

Of particular interest, this person who insisted that Alan Dershowitz said that the FBI could not investigate. I read the link provided by her, and it did not say that. Just to be clear, here's what Dershowitz said today:

@TheOneyouwerewarnedabout I'm merely asking why you and your ilk spent an inordinate amount of time telling me that the FBI has no jurisdiction and therefore could not investigate EVEN AFTER I would bring up that the WH could request it?
