To all the people that said the FBI COULD NOT investigate Kavanaugh, will you admit you didn't know what you were talking about?

@SW-User But I was assured, repeatedly, by the panel of jurisprudence experts here on SW that it was impossible for the FBI to investigate this.

I want to know if they were lying or just stupid.

The FBI isn't allowed to investigate kavanaugh based on unfounded allegations..
Only the President can give such authorization, wich he did today..
No formal charges have been filed.. the FBI doesn't investigate federal judges based on a news story..

@SW-User But, when pressed with that point about the WH requesting an investigation, they doubled-down and said that the FBI couldn't investigate EVEN THEN.

So, I still want to know if they were lying or stupid.

If I was Director Wray and I heard about an alleged rape or attempted rape, I would ask the president for permission to investigate the allegations. And I would investigate with or without his permission.

Not for nothing but the FBI has already done SIX background checks on this guy over his career and apparently nothing like these allegations were ever discovered.

@SW-User Maybe, just maybe no one volunteered the attempted rape incident. Plus, according to Trump, the FBI is a bunch of corrupted losers.
