From Marilyn's collection.... [I Love Meaningful Poetry]

Life —
I am of both of your directions
Somehow remaining hanging downward
but strong as a cobweb in the wind —
I exist more with the cold glistening frost.
But my beaded rays have the colors
I’ve seen in paintings —
ah life they have cheated you.

— Marilyn Monroe

The image was from her last photoshoot on July13, 1962. Just three weeks later, she was found dead at 36.

Marilyn will always be a beautiful soul to me!! I have always been a huge fan of hers and her natural beauty. She has been and always will be an inspiration. 💖💞🌷
@SW-User I'm glad it does. It took me awhile to identify with "those feelings". I have always loved it, but never felt it til this past year. I just wish she'd have known her true beauty before she left this world. She thought she was discarded & used up trash.😔

@MoonlightLullabyOld yes, i know that all too well.....she gave this world such beauty and inspired many. I just now truly identified.....thank you for redirecting me to your beautiful post and her words!! 💖🤗
@SW-User My pleasure, sis.🌷

Natural beauty from a different time - I know very little about her and never would have guessed those were her words...

Wow I guess this is what Elton John was singing about @MoonlightLullabyOld

@MoonlightLullabyOld Wow - a treasure to find - if only this is what they find when they land and we are all gone!
SweetMae · 70-79, F
Such a heartbreaking story. She was so conflicted.
@SweetMae Yes she was. I love showing the side of her few seen.😉

Such an inspiration to young women around the world yet sadly, so misunderstood.
@Sapio Indeed, she sadly was. I've always kind of identified with the unknown sides of her.

I loved Marilyn.
Montanaman · M
💞#TheMisfits💞
@Montanaman That was a pretty good movie. My favorite was the Prince and the Showgirl. [media=https://youtu.be/h-tNA9zo07Y]

I admired her more for the misunderstood..( more so, unknown) girl who devoured books like air along with writing her heart out.

Sorry for just now seeing this.🤗

@MoonlightLullabyOld Then there was
Bus Stop.
And
Some like it hot❤️💋
@Montanaman Some Like It Hot wasn't a hit for me. She wasn't the best actress, imo. She just had to look pretty/sexy and act dumb to be offered a role. Bless her heart. 🥀🖤
ShiftingGears · 46-50, M
@ShiftingGears Yes. Old Hollywood was timeless as a whole...
cd4259 · 61-69, M
Such a beautiful lady, actress, person and bombshell all rolled into one
@cd4259 Indeed. Unfortunately, the girl with a fake smile that was believable too.
SageWanderer · 70-79, M
I always thought of her as a sexpot until my daughter really got into studying her life. Thanks for sharing this.
@SageWanderer My pleasure...

Hollywood created a monster out of a troubled soul. She had a horrendous childhood, and I think, looked for love in the wrong places. But she was so much more that most didn’t/don't realize. It's rather sad.
SageWanderer · 70-79, M
@MoonlightLullabyOld Yes, very sad and destructive.
