I love Canterbury Cathedral . So much history, Canterbury Cathedral is one of the oldest and most significant Christian sites in England. Its history spans over 1,400 years and reflects major developments in English religious, political, and architectural history.
Early History (597–1066)
• 597 CE: St. Augustine, sent by Pope Gregory the Great, arrived in Kent and established his seat in Canterbury. This marked the founding of the original cathedral
