i cant imagine why, but maybe if it stays on for a while because it might be hard on the fans? i once knocked a laptop off a table and it hit a crate on the way down and that damaged it
Are the fans clear??? That's my biggest concern with people using their laptops on or in bed... if the fans don't get enough air, it will overheat.

Not unless you started jumping on it afterwards.

If it blocks all the vents it could potentially cause it to overheat. And especially with the obsession with making laptops thinner and thinner thermal issues can become a problem at the best of times.

@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow I don't think my laptop has vents though like there is none on the bottom or side of it

@Thexboxoneguy1991 It should. Some are at the back. I mean the heat the machine generates has to go somewhere. I mean you could use a metal body of a laptop as a giant heat sink but that tends to get people burned.

Only if underwater

Yes you could potentially overheat it just still on. No air to travel and exhaust. Recirculation. Was it open when you threw it over could of damaged the screen or hinge.

Why do you need a blanket? Adjust your laptops power settings properly and your laptop will not overheat.

@uikakarotuevegeta never had to replace whatever that is you mentioned and my laptop worked fine for years. It’s all about maintenance in your laptops settings.

@Moneyonmymind thermal paste has to be replaced eventually, unless you don't care about your CPU overheating and dying prematurely

@uikakarotuevegeta 🤷🏾♂ never had that issue in 5 years so..
