Dogs know people, i would take my dogs advice

Feed them to the dog. 👍

@OlderSometimesWiser Good idea!
OogieBoogie · F
@OlderSometimesWiser thrifty 👍

I have always followed how my dogs reacted to people, and if the reaction was negative, I would pay attention to that negativity. So, if the dog senses bad in the woman I am starting to date, then I feel they are telling me Hey she won't be good for you and end the dating.

It has happened that the person kicked my pug and I leashed the dog and we left.
SageWanderer · 70-79, M
I used to take prospective relationship partners to my mothers house to judge the reaction of her cocker spaniel. He seemed to be one of the best judges of character.
Mikla · 61-69, F
@SageWanderer That is so true. My dad always told me if a dog or a child doesn't like an adult, run, don't walk.
Pinkstarburst · 51-55, F
Listen to my dog. Lesson learned.
Counsellor · 41-45, F
Dog comes first :)
dominateofyou · 61-69, M
My dogs are smarter than me about most people i listen to me dogs my dogs live here other people are only visiting ,truth is i like my dogs better than most people.
Elisbch · M
Probably not date them much longer and she wouldn't be coming home with me. Dog's know when something/someone's not right.

I was on the wrong side of this one. The dog was a small dog, a rescue by the police from a crack house, with severe trauma. It peed on its owner in excitement when she came home. It attacked larger dogs in the dog park. It barked incessantly when anyone other than my then GF approached the house, including me. I wasn't crazy about the dog, but I liked her well enough that I was willing to tolerate it to be with her.
My GF regularly complained that the dog was adopted by her daughter, who left it behind and left her with the burden of taking care of it when the daughter left ;home. Finally, she said multiple times that she needed to re-home it left her parents farm where it could roam free.
After yet another complaint by her that the dog was a burden, I suggested that if it was bothering her so much, maybe re-homing it was a good idea.
The next week, the dog was still there, but I was gone, as she broke up with me.
What can I say? Never get between an owner and their dog, even by agreeing with its owner when they claim it is a burden to them and talk about getting rid of it.

Dogs can detect things via scent that humans can't. I'd trust the dog.
ElRengo · 70-79, M
My dog is in charge of choosing my date prospects.
LadyGrace · 70-79
Drop them like a scalding potato. Hahaha
Gingerbreadspice · F
“My doggy don’t like you and she likes everyone”. Modified song lyrics. The dog is probably right, I’ll listen to the dog.
Cheesecake · 61-69, M
Depends how hard they tried to win the dog over.
In general though, trust the dog's judgement.

Well I sure wouldn't persecute the dog. The woman can stay and make an effort to get along, or leave. Her choice.
Magenta · F
I wouldn't auto shun the man. It's not black and white, but I'd certainly pay attention.
It's happened before and I should of listened to my dog
Mikla · 61-69, F
@MarbleMarvel I'm sorry! Lesson learned I guess...
Ynotisay · M
I would work with them both to change that. But if my dog didn't like someone I'd say that's a 'me' problem for not socializing the dog properly. But if a person I liked didn't like dogs I might reevaluate my feelings about that person.
SumKindaMunster · 51-55, M
Welcome to Dumpsville baby...population...you.
Girlbehindthecurtain · 31-35, F

greensnacks · 31-35, F
Bye person.
SethGreene531 · M
Like children, dogs have a keen instinct about people. I'd trust it, and proceed with caution.
KarateAaron · 46-50, M
Like @Counsellor said, Dog comes first! I would trust my dog's opinion!

JamesBugman · 56-60, T
@Rokan Happy little wigglers? Love dogs like that, they just run up to you with love in their eyes, and you can love them right back.
Rokan · 31-35, M
@JamesBugman yup thats is how they are and they press against your legs for hugs
Blondily · F
I'd have him play, feed and sit with my dog, take him for walks. My dog would warm up to him quickly.
in10RjFox · M
Will get her to come with a dog for my dog to date.
