He most likely wants some attention, to feel included and not shut out of your bedroom. And fears your reaction to his scratching the door. Or he may crave to go outside, if he goes to another door. My two have learned how to communicate clearly to me: to come and get my attention, and then show what they want. But then they are indoor-outdoor cats so it is mostly for me to open a door or a can of food; and the bedroom is never shut on them.

my bedroom door is always open and my kitty sleeps with me...i wonder what would happen if i close it. in the almost 3 years i've had her my door has always been open. she even follows me into the bathroom. i'm guessing a closed door would tick her off

Wants attention and playtime maybe and doesn’t like closed doors. My kitty doesn’t like to be separated from me at night

Could be a mouse. Could be attention.
My cat will claw on the closet door just to see what is in there though. She loves it when I give her such attention.

Sometimes my cat wants me to follow her down the stairs to the basement. She makes it very clear. "Come with me, Mommy! I want back-up!"

Maybe he wants you to follow him. He's lonely or has separation anxiety.

May be a game. Attention might be what the kitty wants. Try cracking the door open and peeking out to see if it does the same thing.

He wants attention and be around you or know where you are.

He just wants the door open? Or does he scratch everything?
tobynshorty · 51-55, F
You should go look.

All doors to be left open!

He wants to put you in the loop of opening and closing this same door for eternity 😇😻🤣🤣
Convivial · 26-30, F
Sounds like attention seeking behaviour
TurtlePink · 22-25, F
He’s probably frisky
pancakeslam · 46-50, M
