Lily has become quite the messy eater in her senior years. She pushes food off of her plate and onto her placemat where is sticks and dries. In fact, I became concerned that she might have a problem with her teeth so I had the vet check them at her last visit. Thankfully, her toofers are fine.
So I switched her from a plate to a bowl in an effort to keep the food more confined. Now her little nose gets totally wet when she eats. I'm not sure I've solved the messy food station problem, but she looks adorable.
I had a cat to his elderly age when I was younger. He eventually went blind, and that got bad because he was an outdoor cat. I tried to get him to live indoors after he got lost once, but he hated it. I didn’t know what to do. 😔
I had to take care of a WW2 vet with a 19 year old cat.
Make sure it gets plenty of protein. Sam's Club Bone Broth in a bowl and those little sticks of cat food goo you hand feed them with.
Don't forget she has no body weight, so when she is passing on put her someplace warm. It can take a few hours to go from old age. I put her infront of a space heater.
