No clue. I wasn't allowed to have one, ever, while I was married. I AM allergic to them, so there is that...but I have had two cats since my last divorce, and I loved both of my babies a LOT.

some men attach dogs to their sense of masculiinty and cats as feminine felines / kinda like beer and wine -- given a gender preferance / no logic to it but culturally exists
dogs are more straight forward and simple--cats more intricate and take more finesse to interact with and have a pet relationship / you really have to have game to be your cat's best friend--you just have to feed a dog and walk it to get to the same level
i think many guys see dogs as lower maintenance
dog proofing a house ain't that hard but cat proofing a house is more of an operation / cats if they bond with you require more play and more diversity in playing cats have kitty litter boxes / dogs just let outside cats will scratch you even when playing (i call them love scars) dogs most often no-marks
I don’t dislike them but if house cats were as big as humans, they rip us to shreds 😲😅 I just stay away after being bitten and clawed badly as a child. And now it seems I’m allergic 🤧. Win win 😀😅
