"If we could talk to the animals .."

I read this as if my cat was the one answering 🥺

She's the bestest kitty ever, and I have been, and will continue to, do everything I can to give her a good life. She has her issues, but isn't suffering, luckilly. But the day she suffers, and I can't help her, I will let her cross the rainbow bridge. It will destroy me, but I'll also know when my time comes she's waiting on the other side to be reunited.

Crap. Just thinking about it is making me force tears back.

I think pets, as we know them, excist to teach us unconditional love and empathy. And the reason their lives are shorter is because one of two reasons:
1. They suffer so much in the hands of cruelty they are spared much sooner
2. They love us so much, wether or not we deserve it, that they can't bare to lose us while they're still alive.

@TheRealBarbossa Don't think about her departing, concentrate on your time together now. You keep her happy and content and you know she loves you in her own kitty way. I think people can be very surprised at how affectionate cats can be. Especially if they have mostly only owned dogs.
No excuse to be cruel to innocent animals. Human nature is a terrible thing sometimes.

@mossyboots I never take her for granted. If I'm playing a video game and she wants cuddles, I put the game down. If I'm doing chores around the house and she wants a hug, I give her a hug.

She's my no1 priority, not because I can, but because she deserves it.

I once adopted 2 six weeks old kittens who were found in a cardboard box on the side of the road. It took a while for them to trust me, but when they finally did, I could literally put my finger in their eyes to remove dust/hair. They didn't even blink.
The cat I had at the time of adoption, accepted them as his sisters / adopted babies.

@TheRealBarbossa You and I share the same heart where animals are concerned. They never deserve any less of the love we give them.

I was looking at a video yesterday i think it was titled something like "and they say animals cant understand us" and people would tell their pets to smile and they would smile and they'd say things like you want a hamburger? The dog would be excited and they would say you want broccoli? And he would frown and shake his head no. Lol they understand.

@AngelUnforgiven They really do, very emotional creatures too. I detest anyone who says animals have no feelings.

Reading that made me give my dog a massive hug 😊

I feel that - could have been written by a cat.

#10 is still fresh

@Pretzel Absolutely. Might be a longer interview with a cat thought. I'm sure they would have much more to say!

@mossyboots very detailed!

I CAN talk to the animals - it's just that the replies are open to interpretation
