I don’t consider my dog Chloe as my child, possibly because she is a rescue and was grown when we met.

I’d say the relationship is more like siblings. Close to 15 yrs together and I rely on her as much as she relies on me. We respect each other’s boundaries, and live in harmony. I love dogs because they ARE dogs, forgiving, loyal, emotionally sympathetic. I don’t want to make her human; she’s much better than that.

Yeah i always tell her i’m her mom and i love her and give her 100 hugs and kisses every day and she’s very cute and the best dog (our other dog is not) tho he is also cute and cuddly 🙂 and yes i loved and adored all their 15 puppies and considered them my grand babies but my hub wouldn't let me keep any of them 🙁

I'm his dad and I love him more than I've ever loved most humans, I'd protect him before i even thought of protecting myself.

Eh .. my wife more so than me with the Mom /Dad stuff. The dogs are definitely my buds though.

My answer to both questions in YES. When I have a pet of any variety I become their adopted parent.
