My dog is big so when he sits on my lap I am not allowed to move because I can't.🙈😆

I keep some treats near during such occasion.
My cat is so distracted, she thinks it's her idea to get up for those treats.

He doesn't mind me getting up, The chances of me getting my seat back though....
"Owners of dogs will have noticed that, if you provide them with food and water and shelter and affection, they will think you are god. Whereas owners of cats are compelled to realize that, if you provide them with food and water and shelter and affection, they draw the conclusion that they are gods.”

If my dog is on my lap, I don’t have much of a choice but to just stay there.

The cat knows the drill. I don’t sit anywhere long, so sleeping on my lap is a gamble.

You need a sling! My dog loves it and lounges on me while I’m moving around

I go as long as possible and before I get up I give extra kisses and snuggles and then I pick him up and put him down nice n cozy and tell him I’ll be back.
@AlchemyFox bingo!

I can't sit on the couch before heading off to work or assassin cat makes himself at home on my lap and then I have to take a week's leave to wait the lil fucker out.

If my German Shepherd sat on my lap I would be a prisoner.

He's too big to sit on my lap. Besides he knows he isn't allowed on the furniture.

@pdockal um because they would scratch it. It's leather. My rules. My house.

I caress them a little then get up
and give them food so they'd settle down
food or treat could be the only way

{@beermep;lease] 😣 can understand where you are coming from on that one as mam has this daily with our cat jess . if mam sits down she will jump on mams knee and it is an honour in a way. as jess is not the most loving affection cat in the world and show this all on her terms so mam feels bad like yourself when especially she has too disturb her if she is curled up asleep

My kitty doesn't normally sit on my lap. He doesn't like to be picked up, and will, (just barely), allow me to partially cuddle his upper half, as long as I leave his behind on the arm of the chair. SOMEtimes, he will lie partially on one of my legs, like a sphinx...and that is SO rare and so precious I would not move or eat for hours, if he wanted to stay there that long.
I understand the struggle here. But it's good.
