@Freeranger my uncle heard scratching up in the attic one morning when we were sitting at the breakfast table eating breakfast on our farm. He said “that is very loud, it must be a big rat.” He got his shotgun and went upstairs to check it out and shot it. Had a huge fat tail, it was not a normal sized rat. Looked like one of the super-size lab rats that are nearly as big as a cat.
