I just adopted a new kitten and my cat always growls and hisses at him. How do I integrate them?

As long as there is no major aggression, let them work it out. try to give treats when they are close to each other and not showing any stress so they associate the presence of the other cat with good things.

Just time I suppose. Separate them but maybe leave some items with the kittens scent near the older one to acclimatise.

It's normal. They will get to know each other soon.
let them scrap it out..
Let them work it out, just stand by abdvwatch so no one gets hurt. In a week or two they will tolerate each other better, and then get closer from there.

{@lux127] might be more difficult as you probably know cats are a very territorial creature and not keen on invaders into this territory by other cats

I was told to separate them and when they're together to pet both of them so they know that they're both treated the same.
Soooo cute! 😍 My cats kept picking on our little Indiana, they were female, after a couple of months though he started fighting back and over powered them, bless him. 🤣

Let them figure it out. They will establish a pecking order.

They both look so sweet! 😻 I have no idea, I’m used to dogs. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I've been told to keep them in separate rooms, letting them smell each other under the door.
Slowly over time opening the door slightly, letting them smell each other.

It didn't work out for me, apparently my cat hates male cats.

I've also seen people just let the two cats work it out. There will be hissing and fighting at the start.
some cats simply prefer living alone, i have 1 living inside only and 1 living outside only -- with nice heated enclosure ofc. one of the cats is friendly but the other refuses to get along lol.

Is the cat / kitten male or female? And neutered or not? you’ll know what I’m driving at here 😎👍
Lux127 · 26-30, F
The kitten is male and fixed and the cat is female and neutered @Claire2k

Ah right, good stuff, so it’ll just take a little time, different ages take longer to integrate - if one is older than the other, the older one won’t want to play with the young one all the time! 😊@Lux127

I read it could take 2 to 3 years before acceptance but I dont know i dont have cats.

It takes some time! But not sure they become friendly.
Only one way to know
