Question for dog people who trust their dogs, but also don't trust people who don't like dogs...

How do you feel about people who say they don't like dogs, but whenever a dog is around, the dog wont leave that person alone.

Wants pats, cuddles, kisses, play, gets excited every time they see that person, but the person is awkward as heck around the dog, but the dog just wont give up?

And this happens with like 99% of dogs

My dogs are like that, they love people. When someone comes over they just want some attention and to be recognized, if you say hi and pet them for a minute and they know you are okay they will leave you alone.

Yep. My grandson does not like dogs, but my beagle loves him.
Because dogs are amazing and they must be well loved if they don't know why someone won't pet them.

How can you not love dogs they are innocent.

@Lostpoet Socially awkward and dogs attract attention?

Also, if they don't know the dog that well, uncertainty can be a thing

I'm still skeptical

Why would I feel anything about this? 🤷‍♂
Fishy · 36-40, F
@Kwek00 🤷

@Fishy Yeah... I don't know either. If that person doesn't like the dog, I'll try to keep my dog away from them. However, this is still the dogs house, not that persons house. So the dog still gets priority and I won't put it in a bench. I also expect from that person not to try to attract the dog. But I don't "feel" anything. I mean... it's what it is.

If my dog doesnt trust you, then i dont trust you
@Patriot96 Reminds me of that old original Twilight Zone episode.
Fishy · 36-40, F
@Patriot96 But what if your dog trusted them but they didn't trust your dog? 🤔
@Fishy That is a quandry indeed
I have a very faint tooth shaped scar on the web on the inside of my hand near my thumb that I have had since I was three months old in july 1970, somebody's weiner dog was running loose on the Oregon coast and decided to bite me, my Dad grabbed it, snapped it's neck and dumped it in the trash. The owner wanted my Dad arrested for killing her dog, but the beach cop ticketed her instead for allowing her dog to run loose and attack an infant child, me, and was ordered by the judge to pay my medical bills.
