Some of Desmond’s friends are too high energy for me 😩

They’re friendly and naturally, they know him very well, but are interested in getting to know me more since I’m his girlfriend. Which is fine, but I have a social battery, which they drain fast. It’s just exhausting is all. I’m there to relax. 😭

Have you been up front with them? We have a friend in our group who steps out for 10 minutes in a quiet room every hour. Works well for her and we all respect it.

@Ducky From the perspective of one of the people being told, her being up front compared to a hypothetical of her finding reasons to step out and not explaining them... But you need to find what's right for you.
