If you had true family, it would never feel awkward for you. Having said that, my advice would be to avoid family, which means stay at home or be with friends whom you don't feel awkward around. That aspect of your family dynamic will never change, so why put yourself through the agony of pretending, while only appeasing the desires of someone else's whims. Put yourself first, always.

Actually it's not your problem totally
There's always a gap
Though they're all your blood family
I face it a lot
There's a difference between us and I feel very insecure in their presence
And they show me little to no care as elders
I feel left out and these days since I've some say abt what I want to do or not
instead of trying to make peace I'm avoiding family gatherings
.🤦♀️

It's not just you and your social anxiety. I have the same discomfort, although I usually get over it fairly quickly.
I'm the exact same way! And it's never just a few people either. It's always an unofficial frickin reunion.
