Yup, pretty badly at this point.
Turns out 12 years of on and off isolation does bad things to one's social skills. 🤔

I think a lot of social protocols are silly and pretentious and it makes me cringe. That makes me awkward. It's not the lack of confidence.

I really am
I’m essentially a hermit haha

@WaryWitchWandering I know how’d we get along.
No words.
Just throwing processed slices at one another randomly as we ppl watch 6 ft apart.

I think we all feel that way at times. And at times we feel more confident. Personally I’m too silly for people, it’s funny, but I would get in trouble at work and school. But I get what you’re saying, it’s becoming another mask to wear. Another facade to not get to know each other.
@BrokenAbyss agreed. There’s gonna be the odd time where we all seem quckish. How often do you seem like that odd ball though? 🥺
@Teggy I mean always 😆 some people like it, some people tolerate it I’m assuming, it’s just me. I don’t think it’s a negative thing, because people remember at least.

I think socially lazy would be a better term.
I am fully capable of being extremely sociable, I even use to get paid to, but I don't like it and only do so if there is something in it for me.
I'd much rather be alone or in small groups.
The only time i can truly enjoy a social setting is if I am drunk.

I'm fine if i know somebody there or if I feel comfortable with the topic of the day. If I know nobody or if I'm totally ignorant of what is going on, I feel awkward and have to just suck it up and dive in like I know what I'm doing.
JustNik · 51-55, F
I can do an excellent version of “outgoing” for a brief spell, but trying to get me past two sentences of idle chitchat you’re going to wonder what happened. Poor social endurance. 😅
Purplehaze78 · 46-50, F
Not socially awkward but don't like being the center of attention. I like being a fly on the wall and observing people first before interacting with them 😏.

Are you kidding? I was socially awkward before it was cool.
faithfulhusband · C
internally yes. externally i can fake it for a bit.
I think I can read a situation if I have to. But its forced and I hate it. Id much rather not have to talk.

Somewhat. It's part of my charm.
That said, I'm introverted, but no against hanging out with people. I just don't like being the centre of attention.

I am fine when I am around people and have no issue talking to new people.
I would rather be home though.
