It never bothered me. I lived in the south for awhile and that's how people address you politely there.
@MarbleMarvel

An excellent way to be, too.

It’s never a problem.i get greeted with Happy Mothers days even though I am childless if I go out anywhere on that day!
Musicman · 61-69, MVIP
@Secretsmile Same with my wife too.
Secretsmile · 51-55, F
@Musicman does she mind? I won 25 dollars at church for being youngest mother 🤷🏻‍♀lol I have a step daughter at that church.
Musicman · 61-69, MVIP
@Secretsmile Actually it did. She didn't like going out on Mother's Day for that reason. She always wanted to be a mommy.

I was at the grocery store, she was younger.

I thought, I have arrived.

Unwillingly so.
@Umile

"Unwillingly" - perfect
I’m not thrilled being called sir but I’m used to it. 😒
@OlderSometimesWiser

Looking for a disgusted Bea Arthur gif now...
@rinkydinkydoink Lol…… the spirit of Bea is strong with this one.
@OlderSometimesWiser

There are TONS of them...

That's a good feeling being called sir.

I remember the first time I was called an auntie and it felt very disturbing 😂😂 I was 25yo crossing through a kindergarten and a mom told her kid, Look at the auntie, and I thought wtf
@being

You know Ima gonna call you auntie from now on, right? 🤣
being · 36-40, F
@rinkydinkydoink it's okay now, I'm beyond Aunties 🤪🥰

Was no big deal
Using the phone for my Dad, talking autopsies and sections, resections etc people assumed I was an adult, but no, our family never protected children from horror.
@Roundandroundwego

This would be me!

hunkalove · 61-69, M
No one has ever called anyone "Sir" and meant it respectfully. It's really more of an insult that means "you think you are better than me."
@hunkalove

President-For-Life Trump is forever being dissed then :(
Every story he tells has someone asking for his wisdom by first addressing him as "Sir"

Felt awkward at first... But then
@Royricky09

...but then what?
@SissySecrets

Older as in a positive?

I felt all growed up--but then it was recently counterbalanced by a woman asking me what high school I attend (I graduated high school 5 years ago). :P
bit weird.

the 'youre making a scene' bit was a tad unnecessary
Musicman · 61-69, MVIP
Didn't phase me at all.
@Musicman

Same - on the other hand, I don't ever recall being asked for I.D. like my friends (that bothered me)
Musicman · 61-69, MVIP
@rinkydinkydoink I inherited a gene from my mother's dad. I started graying in my 20's and had white hair in my 40's. Sometimes people would give me the senior citizens discount. I never corrected them. Lol!!!😂
