Wow, one could assume they want to establish and protect their fundamental human rights. Wonder why they feel the need for that 🤔
@wildbill83 just because it is worse somewhere else doesnt mean its perfect here and nothing should be changed. And i have been to multiple non western countries and they all had things that were worse than here and things that were better than here.
wildbill83 · 41-45, M
@Firewarrior "perfect" is an illusion. Anyone greedy enough to chase the impossible risks losing what they already have, i.e. the parable of the dog with two bones...
@wildbill83 ok, if that is your opinion, then i change the word perfect to good, my point is still the same.

SatanBurger · 36-40, F
Dunno what this is referring to but you do realize Trump repealed laws that said it wasn't okay to discriminate against trans community and stuff right? Like Trump rolled back a lot of laws. I'm sure that has something to do with it.

If the lgbtq+ people were the majority and they said it would be okay to discriminate against heterosexuals, you'd likely want a bill of rights too.
TexChik · F
They already have the right to remain silent, but Won’t do it! Never appease mental illness, institutionalize it or treat it.

@TexChik

As the great Ron White says: “they have the right to remain silent, but no (desire or) ability”
TinyViolins · 31-35, M
We have a President who won't even respect the one we already have. Doesn't surprise me that targeted groups are pushing for stronger protections
TinyViolins · 31-35, M
@carpediem If you can't prove your claims, your entire argument falls apart. The only basis you have for withholding funding is unproven allegations.

Either we have a government that protects freedom of speech or our constitution means absolutely nothing. Intentionally conflating anti-Zionism with antisemitism is a cheap trick meant to control a narrative and you've clearly fallen for it

@carpediem Here are direct quotes from actual Jewish students on campus protests

“There’s so much in the media narrative about what’s happening on Columbia campus that is just disingenuous and just so untrue to what we’ve experienced,” Beckwith-Cohen said.

“So we’re here today to tell our Congress people that what we’re seeing on campus is clearly an authoritarian, fascist crackdown on all dissent, not only students peacefully advocating for an end to genocide.”

“Jewish students are being used as pawns in Trump’s political agenda,” she said. “And the weaponisation of anti-Semitism to dismantle this movement is not just a threat to Jewish students; it’s a threat to all of us. That’s why it is so important for us as Jewish students to directly correct this false narrative.”

“We’re talking to members of Congress to tell them our stories that are left out of mainstream news,” Borus told Al Jazeera.

“Trump’s mission is not about protecting Jewish students. It is about using fears of anti-Semitism – because of the way that the Gaza solidarity encampment was portrayed last year – in order to target non-citizen student activists, in order to target academic freedom, free speech, and really put many, many people in danger.”

“It’s normal in college to encounter new viewpoints, new perspectives. That’s how I became more pro-Palestinian and anti-Zionist,” he said. “I initially felt uncomfortable when I encountered anti-Zionist views, but then I grew to understand them. That’s normal.”

Raphie stressed that the real suffering is happening in Gaza.

“The students who are not safe right now, of course, are the students in Gaza. Every university in Gaza has been destroyed. They haven’t had food for 60 days.”

If the United States was truly "the land of the free and the home of the brave" there would be no need for such things.

The problem is, we have perpetuated a myth.

The laws are not applied equally.
There are rules for the masses but not for the elites.

We are not free until everyone is free.

We are not equal until everyone is equal.
It shouldn't be necessary. Doesn't the original cover all people? Perhaps the government should just start enforcing that one.
@Thrust why vowels in the end of a name, why should that keep property values up?

@Firewarrior

Both of you are quite the economic scholars. No wonder I own you so cheap
SpudMuffin · 61-69, M
@Thrust
Again, why does this fringe deserve a special bill of rights? Come up with an extra special bill of rights for REAL Americans, then we’ll talk about one for them

Who are the REAL Americans?
"how can I make this all about me?"
ScreamingFox · 41-45, F
Stop treating them like they aren't human and they won't ask for human rights. It's not too difficult a concept to grasp if you have a brain.
chrisCA · M
@IM5688 Oh? You are a mental health professional?
@chrisCA They think they are
chrisCA · M
@NativePortlander1970 The same people who knew better during Covid. 😅
CountScrofula · 41-45, M
Yes all of them at once. A full bill of rights. Just like the one you have but only for them.

They had a meeting and everything.
ididntknow · 56-60, M
I think they should have their own island
IM5688 · 61-69, M
@ididntknow Before they go after getting their own island, they will first decide that they want one of the US states to exclusively theirs. IMO, California or Minnesota would be a good state to give them.
AbbeyRhode · F
Ridiculous. They have the same rights as everyone else, and must obey the same laws. They have no right to force others to accept their mental illness, and they have no right to mess around with children.
@AbbeyRhode Well the problem is that it is debateble who forces someone to do what.
Confined · 56-60, M
No! They should go live in Russia or Iran for a while, maybe they will realize what rights they had all along.
Acheron · 41-45, M
Their Bill of Rights goes by Billie of Rights now.
Well.. they are insane so…

Just another group whining about something that makes no sense and is NOT going to happen. Not worth listening to. 🤷🏻‍♂
Adrift · 61-69, F
My thoughts, is we need to ge looking at who is really stirring the pot?
FloorGenAdm · 51-55, M
I like that Twisted Sister song🎶
MasterLee · 56-60, M
What country are they moving to?
Where have you gotten that from?
CountScrofula · 41-45, M
@IM5688 So this would make it illegal to discriminate against them.

What kinds of discrimination did you intend to carry out you'd not be allowed to?
@IM5688 thanks.
JSul3 · 70-79
@IM5688 Bravo!
