Sometimes, you just have to make peace with the fact that you can't change who you are and the world just needs to accept you the way you are. There's nothing you can do about the fact that you're wired differently to most people.

In my experience, this is often the case with high functioning ASD: there is clearly no intention to be blunt or rude, just naturally direct and honest.
However, many neurotypicals don't know how to recognise the signs of ASD; if they could, they'd make allowances for it.
