Apparently I'm abrupt to neurotypical people, maybe even rude. I'm not trying to be though :(

In my experience, this is often the case with high functioning ASD: there is clearly no intention to be blunt or rude, just naturally direct and honest.
However, many neurotypicals don't know how to recognise the signs of ASD; if they could, they'd make allowances for it.
