Do most guys like to pay for dinner?

i paid for everything in my first relationship and then in my last relationship my ex insisted he would pay for stuff and then later if i didnt want sex said i owed it cause he took care of me. so, yes, but because it "all depends on dessert" as someone else said

Yes. When we were dating, dinner was usually at Dairy Queen. I was really happy when I saved enough to take her to a real restaurant.

The only time I ever let a lady pay for my supper it was my cousin. She wasn't actually paying for it because she was such a valued customer/ big spender at the casino we were at the casino comped everything but her gambling expenses. They comped her rooms and meals and any shows or concerts they had. Supper for the two of us was was $175.00 . Which I couldn't afford to pay anyway. I did catch the tip though I tipped the waitress $60. That was 10 yrs ago. Fairly high priced meal at that time. It was delicious , best steak I have ever tasted. It was some kind of Japanese raised beef .

I think modern etiquette is that the person who asks the other out pays, but I always pay or at least offer to pay. If she is uncomfortable with me paying, then we split.

As you can see I'm an old fart and old school. I believe if a man asks a woman out he's obligated to pay. If she wants to pitch in so be it. To think of it it's also a polite way for her to say you ain't getting dessert tonight honey.
