What do you miss the most from the 90s? Ok for the younger ones, say before 2010?

I miss blockbuster video on weekends and going into pizza hut on date night. Playing the jukebox. ( its a small town area, that was fun times dammit)
Bignakedguy · 31-35, M
92 baby here, I got a good taste of the time.

I only been to blockbuster twice. My family would go to Hollywood video after church or school.

I would always want a monster movie (Godzilla especially). My mom introduced me to stars like Bette Davis. Because watching Lucy was a gateway drug to old Hollywood.

Oh vhs 📼 and vcr…. I watched Batman over and over.

The another thing I miss about the 90s is that neighbors were friendly, people were absolutely friendly and warm back then.

I miss the playfulness.

I have a stubborn vague 90s memory of a house I went to. Maybe it was for a party or something. The house was absolutely whimsical. There was a koi pod, vines growing on the walls, very earthy. I don’t remember if it was a relatives place or it was for some birthday party.

I miss the floppy disk ( yes I remember) we had a lot of educational games that were in floppy disks.

There was a coziness in that time. Ugh, man I need to find that pic of me with my sega.

Crap, now I’m nostalgic.

Anyway, conscious during the Britney, *NSYNC, Backstreet Boys boom going on.

I remember feeling a sense of embarrassment of listening to the music, I can’t explain it. I was just a kid. Maybe I was self conscious??? Why??? Why did I feel shame , I had no reason to.

Anyways again.

I am lucky. So damn lucky to have tasted that era.

Oh just to add, 3 things in the 90s really messed me up

1. Watching fire in the sky

2. That one treehouse of horror episode of the simpsons with the killer dolphins.

3. Mars attacks.
@Bignakedguy all wonderful memories. Mars attacks lol loved watching that with my son

I miss the live music nightclubs with dance music, jazz music, good food, drinks, party until 2am. Everyone was chill. I saw names that were the greats for a $10 cover. Kenny G, QuarterFlash, Santana, etc.
Fungirlmmm · 51-55, F
@Livingwell Same here. I miss live bamds and small covers
i miss the concert scene...early 90s was the end of it for me. but seeing nirvana and pearl jam i the height of the grunge days were cool, even though i wasn't "grunge" i'll miss the strip club scene too.

@beermeplease best time in music!!!
AlittleBitGenX · 46-50, F
I miss no cellphones, hanging out with friends at bonfires. No bills. Eating anything I wanted and never gaining a pound 😂. The concerts and music in general were the best though Lots of things ☺️
@AlittleBitGenX yesss, the bonfires and food and the Metabolism that wasnt asleep 😴
Telephone booths, 25 cent glass bottle soft drink vending machines, drive-ins, corded telephones (copper wire analog), windup watches, big box TVs & quadrophonic stereos, etc
There’s a lot to be said for those simpler times.

I remember how exciting it was when Blockbuster opened a store in our town. An entertainment dream come true!
@OlderSometimesWiser blockbuster was my Saturday night go to. Browsing the 'new release' section. I was always so excited
dancingtongue · 80-89, M
Retiring. That first rush of knowing I am not tethered to the phone 24/7 for business calls; free to do whatever I want each day, and exploring all I had been missing.

I don't miss the 90s. It was a pretty boring decade. Nothing really happened. The '80s and '70s a lot more was happening.
TurtlePink · 22-25, F
I get so jealous of people who lived in the 90s. Y’all had everything
@TurtlePink it truly was just a great time. At least for me in my view.
Silentpleasure · 31-35, F

caccoon · 36-40
Yes totally. And the lack of smartphones. I was thinking earlier how uncomfortable I am without my phone. It's like my life revolves around it

I feel like going to the movies with friends was more of a thing, but mostly yeah I miss video stores
pancakeslam · 41-45, M

Lack of digital connectivity and while the surveillance state was growing at a good clip. It wasn't this over bearing juggernaut yet.

Reasonable rent and housing prices and the market not being royaly Efffed by airBnB

Sears. Holy cow do I miss being able to one stop at Sears.

Reasonably priced concert and festival tickets.

Intelligently designed vehicles and motors without all this extra electronic garbage

Actual dive bars. Dimly lit, no or stained glass windows so you couldn't see inside or outside. Maybe one small TV in the corner instead of 20 massive TVs on every wall. You know actual seddy neighborhood dive bars on. Every busy corner
