When you see snarky, sarcastic replies

To your own post or another's....ohhh boy I get like..Why man..why??? Does it make someone think only they are Right? Or better? Or cool? Idk but MOST times I do ignore them. I have seen when you play a game of trying to say your own stance it just is an endless back and forth. NO thanks. My therapist said saying nothing is still saying something. You choose "Nope I won't engage". However I do want to work on actually being bold back. But maybe over time. Here is a neat idea however..if you don't like a post , go to the next! One.... yay!!!!!!!😑🫨✌🏼

The problem is, is it really a snarky reply?

Many people joke around. Including myself. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Don't immediately judge based on just one reply. If in doubt, ask. It doesn't hurt to ask.

I can't say how many have blocked me over a simple misunderstanding. And that is not just the jokes.

They are so fixed in thinking that they don't want to consider anything else.

Snarky isn't always snarky.

@DeWayfarer Oh I can kinda tell a snarky remark typically..not meaning you🪻

@Coralmist I do wonder though if people really can tell.

The reason is often their thinking is so fixed that they themselves can't tell.

I do sometimes reply snarkily and sarcastically. I don't feel like just standing by when, for example, someone is attacking groups of people that include relatives and friends of mine.

@SW-User I think it is called for on occasion if another won't back down and is insulting a friend or family. In this case I am referring mainly to snarky replies to posts that are not aggressive or hurtful...but the person needs to still dig at them somehow.

@Coralmist I agree with you about those. And that there is too much "snark" on here... and on line in general :(
@SW-User Exactly, that person earned our ire and derision.

When you say "don't like" are you saying people who comment always has to agree with your opinion?

I know that sarcasm is a huge language many use in here , it's never good to be too serious with strangers. It took some getting used to the first couple weeks. For a while I took it personal too.

Now several months later, I expect people to come with witty snarky comments as a part of the entertainment and friendly engagement in here, and it has left it's tracks in me too so I use it more now too, it's like an internal joke between all SW members.

Life can be so extremely boringly serious so SW is like a playground away from that. I think that's why most people are here.

@Coralmist That is exactly what I do when I see post I do not like, I remain quiet and scroll to the next post.

@Mikla so True!!
I just recently had this on one of my posts, where the user said they would be avoiding me....um okay how about you practice what you preach dude. I tend to ignore most things on here as I don’t have a vested enough interest in allowing my emotional wellbeing to be affected.

Oh, I know you’re right. Sometimes I think if I just respond to their snarkiness, with politeness, it’ll turn the tide, but it never does. Would’ve been better if I just left it alone. Then, of course, there are the times I slip up and given to my own sarcasm lol…

I mean my sarcastic replies are comedic bits that usually take more shots at myself than anything. Its all in good fun. You find the funny in life and the funny will find you.

I think any post where people are mean for no good reason are a bit silly. I was once accused of being sarcastic when I was being serious, it kinda sucked.

Sometimes deleting them is the best option. But I'm always tempted to slap them back too much.
I've practiced just ignoring some people .

Mind you ....there's therapy in letting loose 😂

People act like butts here because they can. They missed the opportunity to be genuine and chose a life of dickery lol

I block them so they never do again👍
When I give such replies and comments, it's because that person has earned it.
