It's about a fifteen minute walk to my local bathing beach. We call it the "sea" though, not grandiosely the "ocean". Though I do have a glimpse of the sea from an upstairs window of my Southern English home, and in that direction the next land is South America.
I can't say it "impacts my well-being" or anything equally romantic, but if I open a window or stand in the garden I can hear the sea when it's rough.

I have always lived by the ocean except when I lived on the road. I have a deep respect for the ocean and her power. I walk the beach as often as I can. I sing. I swim. The salt is healing. She's science and magic and power and calm.

The sound of the water is soothing, whether on a beach, or stream. I like looking at it glimmering and its waves and ripples mesmerizing puts me in trance.

10 minute walk from the beach. When the tide is right, I can hear the waves crashing on the beach.

Close to a river. And a smaller stream. Can hear them sometimes as I go to sleep.

River and a couple creeks aren't far away. If I hear them something is really wrong
