It didn't help former President Teddy Roosevelt. Nor did the attempts against sitting Presidents Gerald Ford or Jimmy Carter.
President Reagan won re-election. So did Presidents Nixon and Lincoln (after a bullet passed thru his hate in August 1864).
Those are but a few of the far too many assassination attempts.

@beckyromero Becky I've cut myself shaving worse than the blood from the bullet...I'm sorry but I think the picture of him surrounded by SS agents with one of them looking right at the camera and Trump has his fist in the air....with the blood on his face is the most STAGED picture I think I've ever seen....And then Secret service agents took time to find his shoes before getting him in the SUV while the shooting was happening....I have 2 friends that were secret service agents ....one with President Reagan and one was on George W Bush Jr's detail ....I have chatted with both of these guys and both of them in their opinion think it wasn't real....and I'm no gun guy but I think a bullet from an AR-15 would do a lot more damage even if it was just a graze....And all the people sitting right behind Trump on the stage didn't seem concerned at all....none of them hit the ground or tried to take cover......The whole thing seems hinkey to me!!!

It was staged with the intention of helping, but i think it broke alot of viewers, too much it's a joke to him and everyone is tired of it. . Plus Trump comes off as trying to piss ppl off OFTEN so he then getting shot is his own fault. If that makes sense.

I think yeah. It's a shame but it sure does create a feeling of desperation amongst his parties supports to vote for him. I don't enjoy his presidency, I do hope the deomcrats win and that the publics memory is short enough to forget the shooting.Cutting it close here.That must take like at least 2 months to get off the news stations and another week for everyone to forget after that.

@Ozuye502 It would appear to have been from a stray bullet, as were the injuries to the wounded. BBC website has stated FBI identified the gunman as a Republican who had given a small amount of money to a liberal cause.
