This is so wrong to have happen to a president of this country!

spjennifer · 56-60, T
What's "So wrong" about it? It was a legally executed search warrant, he's "innocent until proven guilty", if he has nothing to hide, he has nothing to worry about, if he does in fact have something to hide, well then he deserves to be prosecuted just like any other criminal.
spjennifer · 56-60, T
@MrBrownstone Yep, please do try, then I'd have a reason to shoot you 🤪
MrBrownstone · 46-50, M
@spjennifer No you don’t have the freedom to do that.

Trump asks
What is the difference between this and Watergate, where operatives broke into the Democrat National Committee?
Well, to start with, Nixon's 'plumbers' didn't have a valid search warrant, signed by a judge. The FBI did have a valid search warrant, signed by a judge.

Additionally, the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) has been requesting documents that Trump may have illegally removed from the White House and may be illegally storing at Mar-a-Lago. And NARA has asked Trump repeatedly for said documents. Do I need to explain how that differs from Watergate??

[sep][sep]UPDATE[sep][sep]
Oh, by the way, the FBI director who had to have cleared the search warrant and the raid? Appointed by Trump!!

And the judge, Bruce Reinhart, who reportedly signed the search warrant? He was appointed to the bench as a federal magistrate judge in 2018. That means appointed by Trump!!

Yeah, right-wing media is going crazy over the fact that as a private lawyer, Reinhart's firm defended Jeffrey Epstein. Sorry, if guilt by association were a legal principle, Trump himself would already be in jail.
sunsporter1649 · 70-79, M
@ElwoodBlues It's specified in the affidavit.

@sunsporter1649 Save up your pennies, go to the store, buy yourself a legal dictionary, and look up affidavit & search warrant. You'll find they are different things!! The fine quote you pasted earlier about general warrants? It's not about affidavits, is it? No, it's about search warrants, LOL!!!

The Mar a Lago search warrant is valid, legal, and specific. You are changing the subject to affidavits because you can't refute my facts on the Mar a Lago search warrant, LOL!!!
The warrant authorizes the seizure of four categories of material at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago residence ... The locations authorized for search included the “45 Office,” all storage rooms, and all rooms that the former president and his staff could have used to store materials. The warrant did not allow for a blanket search of the resort and excluded areas occupied by other club members at the time of the search.

The property to be seized included documents and records constituting “contraband, fruits of crime, or other items illegally possessed in violation of 18 U.S.C. §§ 793, 2071, and 1519.”
Go ahead, talk about underwear or change the subject to something else and get in the last word if that makes you feel better, ROTFL!!!
sunsporter1649 · 70-79, M
@ElwoodBlues Of course, very specific, take whatever you want, including Melina's underwear, we'll sort it out later
Does he have an issue with the warrant?

Does he think it's unfair that he should have to defend himself, even without the burden of proof?

Its more bullshit, calculated to appeal to a mixture of sympathetic wannabe criminals and uneducated simpletons.

Nevertheless, they are his supporters, and they can either kill the rest of us or serve on a jury.

We'll see.
SteelHands · 61-69, M
@MistyCee Yep. Between me and you and the border wall though we all know that the Democratic party has become the party of the openly privileged elite.

Well that and their "educalytes" that think Mao and Stalin only killed 6 million people because they were "evil capitalists"
@SteelHands I think you're selling Mao way short there, but maybe I'm an "educalyte" myself. I have no clue what that means.
SteelHands · 61-69, M
@MistyCee Meanings and individual inelasticity to pronouncements from on high are just another form of the infinite problem of perception. Make of it whatever you will.

As for little red book China guy.

That no Carnegy/Rockwell/Ford foundation in the CCP or the USSR prexisted their home grown methods of killing off a large swath of their countrymen and women, count me last among any that would strain out any justification. Nor a numerical minimization if that's what you meant.

As for our local tyrants.

Those corporate titans might have been better advised to have been told that by turning the poor into compliant nincompoops they would only be guaranteeing that their own generational offspring eventually became unwitting imbeciles.

You may disagree. However anyone that actually believes you can make a human type conciousness out of even a mountainous pile of code and silicon is extremely lacking in any sort of intellectual depth.

One need only observe the prattle of the "multiplanetary civilization" nonsense from the "world's richest man" to dissolve any illusions with regard to that.

Obviously, one "first moon mission" back, that should have left us a better record. But it did not.

And here we are again.

We've also never had a President of this country, lead a violent insurrection against Congress. So there's that.
@Northwest The same FBI that is executing this search is the same FBI that said there was not an insurrection on 6 Jan.
Northwest · M
@Coletracer
That's the Dem's narrative which like all their lies is BS!
You should widen your reading sources.
The insurrection is not holding BLM and Antifa responsible in Portland.
The "insurrection"? I'm sure you realize a couple of things:

1. The storming of the US Capitol by a mob, looking to hang the Vice President, egged on by the sitting President of the US, has nothing to with with Portland.

2. Those who committed criminal acts in Portland, were hunted down, arrested, tried and most are spending time in jail. So, what's your point?
and the evil is coming out of the D. party.
I'm sure you think this means something, it does not.
How come when the liberals invaded the capital..
This was in one of your dreams? Because it did not happen in real life.
Plus it was all a set up by the feds!
That's just what Alex Jones said 🤣
Check the facts
I wish I could explain irony to you.

If I swiped nuclear secrets from the Pentagon and took them home, I'd be in prison getting a mandatory colonoscopy within a week, and rightly so. The only thing wrong with this situation is the fact that our justice system gives so much fucking leeway to the wealthy and powerful that we're only just now seeing a serious response to such remarkably serious and obvious crimes.
BlueVeins · 22-25
@soar2newhighs I assume that kind of thing is just difficult to set up for organizational reasons. Nobody wants to be the dude setting up a procedure for how to hold your boss accountable if he does bad stuff.
@BlueVeins This is something our Government should be controlling. This really isn’t a person vs person Re who is boss/ subordinate. Believe me , after 37 years of government service there is no doubt in my mind that the issue of classified information relating to a President and his handling of said materials is or at least I would think strictly and tightly monitored and maintained.
Perhaps I’m wrong and if so our nation is its own worse enemy and the damage has been on going for years. Just my opinion.
spjennifer · 56-60, T
@BlueVeins The reality is the documents don't belong to tRump or ANY President, they belong to the US Government and therefor, the "People". If he did indeed take home classified documents that as a "Former President" he is no longer entitled to be in custody of, then like any other Government employee, he should be held accountable for his actions. tRump seems to have forgotten that he worked FOR the People, not the other way around. 😖

Somebody is high... nobody broke in, it was a lawfully executed warrant served by the FBI.
sunsporter1649 · 70-79, M
@ElwoodBlues Wedding dresses?
@sunsporter1649 Dude, Trump's 120,000 person Dept of Justice had FOUR YEARS to investigate the heck out of all your conspiracy theories.

Plus, the Republican Congress held EIGHT separate republican controlled congressional investigations of Hillary! Seven were not enough - they had to go for EIGHT! And remember that all EIGHT separate republican controlled congressional investigations of Hillary ended up exonerating her.

But you keep believing in your tooth fairies, don't let all the facts from prior investigations wash away your fantasies, LOL!!!

@Coletracer I dont think the 87k new irs agents will be targeting the 1000 billionaires..
more like the entire middle class suffering thru inflation.

@Coletracer The IRS will only hassle poor people, especially Black people. They will never audit any of the billionaires or their companies. And you can walk on the Sun before they audit any of the Congress Critters.

Yes. I agree. Its a complete tragedy and a total farce.. And as long as America keeps electing politicians of the calibre of Donald J Trump it will probably happen a lot more.. So STOP IT!😷

Their desperate fear of Trump is palpable. People can smell it's unique aroma.
Isn't it just TERRIBLE when the FBI goes after a major public figure? Listen to these right-wing pundits' statements from a few years ago:

But not to worry, you got him this time sparky.🕺👍

Excuse me whilst I pop corn and watch this also blow up spectacularly in your faces.
SCOTUS already ruled on this when Clinton was hiding docs in his sock draw.. you can google that. Because I know your 3 second goldfish memory will struggle.

Although we should accept Trump's ability to wriggle his way out of everything from a rape charge to inciting revolt we should wonder if this wriggling ability is enough to qualify him as leader.
@circleK”Leaders” in this country be it a Democrat or Republican have pasts that reek with indiscretions, some made very public and some swept under the rug for political agendas. That is fact.
