Trump asks
What is the difference between this and Watergate, where operatives broke into the Democrat National Committee?
Well, to start with, Nixon's 'plumbers' didn't have a valid search warrant, signed by a judge. The FBI did have a valid search warrant, signed by a judge.

Additionally, the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) has been requesting documents that Trump may have illegally removed from the White House and may be illegally storing at Mar-a-Lago. And NARA has asked Trump repeatedly for said documents. Do I need to explain how that differs from Watergate??

[sep][sep]UPDATE[sep][sep]
Oh, by the way, the FBI director who had to have cleared the search warrant and the raid? Appointed by Trump!!

And the judge, Bruce Reinhart, who reportedly signed the search warrant? He was appointed to the bench as a federal magistrate judge in 2018. That means appointed by Trump!!

Yeah, right-wing media is going crazy over the fact that as a private lawyer, Reinhart's firm defended Jeffrey Epstein. Sorry, if guilt by association were a legal principle, Trump himself would already be in jail.

@ElwoodBlues you are confusing them with facts and truths 🤣

@ElwoodBlues A search warrant that says grab anything you want? I seem to recall search warrant must be specific
@sunsporter1649
A search warrant that says grab anything you want?
Maybe you shouldn't depend on cartoons for your "research," LOL!!!

@ElwoodBlues Since the fbir had already been to the mansion, and knew where the documents were, what were they doing going thru Melina's underwear drawer?
@sunsporter1649
A search warrant that says grab anything you want?
OK, so how much underwear did the FBI cart away? Dude, the search warrant is legal and valid, deal with it!!!

@ElwoodBlues A general warrant refers to a warrant providing a law-enforcement officer with broad discretion or authority to search and seize unspecified places or persons. A general warrant lacks a sufficiently particularized description of the person or thing to be seized or the place to be searched. General warrants are unconstitutional because they do not meet the Fourth Amendment's specificity requirements.
@sunsporter1649 Did some cartoon tell you that???
The warrant authorizes the seizure of four categories of material at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago residence ... The locations authorized for search included the “45 Office,” all storage rooms, and all rooms that the former president and his staff could have used to store materials. The warrant did not allow for a blanket search of the resort and excluded areas occupied by other club members at the time of the search.

The property to be seized included documents and records constituting “contraband, fruits of crime, or other items illegally possessed in violation of 18 U.S.C. §§ 793, 2071, and 1519.”
Maybe you shouldn't depend on cartoons for your "research," LOL!!

@ElwoodBlues Figures you would not want to touch that
@sunsporter1649 The warrant is specific, not general.

Are you at the point where you admit defeat by changing the subject??
sunsporter1649 · 70-79, M
@ElwoodBlues Yup, for sure, general warrant, grab anything you want, including passports and Melina's underwear

See dude? You are admitting defeat by changing the subject to underwear, LOL!!!
sunsporter1649 · 70-79, M
@ElwoodBlues It's specified in the affidavit.

@sunsporter1649 Save up your pennies, go to the store, buy yourself a legal dictionary, and look up affidavit & search warrant. You'll find they are different things!! The fine quote you pasted earlier about general warrants? It's not about affidavits, is it? No, it's about search warrants, LOL!!!

The Mar a Lago search warrant is valid, legal, and specific. You are changing the subject to affidavits because you can't refute my facts on the Mar a Lago search warrant, LOL!!!

Go ahead, talk about underwear or change the subject to something else and get in the last word if that makes you feel better, ROTFL!!!
sunsporter1649 · 70-79, M
@ElwoodBlues Of course, very specific, take whatever you want, including Melina's underwear, we'll sort it out later
