Did Democrats hate everything Trump said last night?

They do not even support stopping Social Security checks to dead people.

And they would not give any kudos to that little boy who beat brain cancer.

Are Democrats forced to take the opposite stance on every word Trump utters?

It seems that the right should not care a wit about finding common ground with
the left, since the left will not even consider common ground. They will only
consider the opposite of what Trump says, no matter what.

Part of the confusion surrounding the issue stems from a flaw in Social Security’s software systems. The SSA's records management system has been plagued by a lack of data compatibility, which results in some records displaying inaccurate birthdates. In some cases, this can cause individuals’ ages to be reported as more than 150 years old.

“Their computer systems are antiquated, and as a result, information from one area was not feeding over to another area,” Mauney explained. “That didn't mean that people were actually getting a check. It just means that if you were to go to that particular database, you might see people with some ages that are being counted from way back when they should have been cut off at the year 2000.”

Investigations have already been underway to address these discrepancies. A 2023 audit by the SSA’s Office of the Inspector General revealed that 18.9 million Social Security number holders born in 1920 or earlier were not marked as deceased in the agency's records. Additionally, the U.S. Treasury Department reported it had successfully stopped and recovered more than $31 million in improper Social Security payments to dead people

That whole Social Security check thing was misleading. Although so people are not registered dead, they are not receiving any money, another Trump misrepresentation. That has been fact-checked.

What did that boy have to do with anything?

Every word he utters is hyperbole or an outright lie, of course they don't support him.

The left doesn't like the idea of using a black child, any child, as a prop. And it is even more egregious in that trump cut funding to child cancer research.

And you should know by now, even with your master still lying about it, that no people born on march 22 1885 are collecting social security.
Common ground can oly be found when the bedrock below that topsoil is based on truth.

@Carla Gee carla, I wasnt paying any attention to the kids skin color. I just thought it was cool that the kids dream of becoming a police officer was being honored by the president of the United States.
I was more focused on his ongoing battle with cancer than anything else.

would you support a system like drivers licenses , where a person would have to show up in person like every 5 years ?

My new Real ID license is good for 8 years.

There should be a tie-in with the tax returns. So, even if a person is 101 years old in a nursing home it could serve a proof of life. But when it gets older than that, a social security auditor should be required to make a personal visit to the person's residence to verify that the person is living. No one lives to be 130 years old on Earth at this time.

@DogMan well, I can’t comment on “standing and applauding” during a sotu because I have not watched one since around 2010. I would rather rad about it later than listen to the political theatrics and BS from both sides. I have better things to do with my time. Last night I watched a documentary on Apollo 11, last year I was doing auto repair…

That said, I think Trump’s comments regarding operation “warp speed” were well received by democrats.

@DogMan yep, i remember that. I actually thought Trump handled covid decently at first. I also thought the re-do of NAFTA was good. The “trade war” with China was complained about at first, but notice Biden kept the tariffs in place.

@BrandNewMan there is no benefit. That’s why there are already protocols to root this stuff out. As far as modernization of the databases, I recall that was a push by the Obama administration that was 86ed by the GOP.
