Right, so what is the plan to ensure there is no disruption to the distribution of vital overseas aid? Or was this just a ploy all along (quite a corrupt one at that of it involved deception) to make permanent cuts to aid?

This really needs to be audited independently for anyone to take it seriously.
I would like to comment on the last article which seems especially implausible. You do know that the Taliban have zero tolerance of poppy cultivation and opium production? And they have been so successful in eliminating production in Afghanistan that most criminal activity is now focused on synthetic opioids such as fentanyl . . which America well knows.

Of course, you’d rather spend a trillion dollars on a war next year than a thousand dollars this year to prevent it. USAID spending is a drop in the bucket and more than pays for itself.
