It is now obvious. The war in Ukraine is at a tipping point — not only for Ukrainians and Russians but for the United States, wider Europe and, most particularly, the UK.

The Russians are on a roll — attacking at five points and beginning to dominate in the air and with electronic warfare. Ukraine still manages to counter-attack with cross-border raids and strikes on major facilities in Russia but ammunition is running low and support from the West dwindling.

Donald Trump has just announced that if re-elected he would not spend a dollar on arming Ukraine.

Vladimir Putin is expecting a favourable truce this spring. Expect a big strategic announcement next week

Ukraine’s forces are digging in, building huge defensive lines. They talk of raising a further half-million troops for the armies but that would scrape the demographic barrel. With the backing of the Pope, Trump and Hungary’s premier Viktor Orbán, Vladimir Putin is expecting a favourable truce this spring. Following his re-coronation in the presidential election this weekend, he will make his moves.

So much of the world is acting like it is the mid 1930s. It is so frightening. We just helped a Ukrainian family unite here in the US. They left DNipro, said it is terrible there.
Just an honest question, there are some who say Ukraine should give up territories to try and find peace, relenting some control to Russia, how do you feel about this? I don't know when the war stops, and even if Putin promised give me these regions, as he's playing geopolitical games on real living people, would you accept if Ukraine receded those regions? It could end the war, or just be a false promise from Putin. I'm genuinely curious (I view him as a tyrant)

@thewindupbirdchronicles The problem with this is it proves that illegal invaisions work. The only peace is to go back to pre invaision borders as in 2012.
The other major problem is that of Transdniestria, this potentially is a larger problem for Europe.
While all the Russian focus is about reclaiming territory, they easily forget about Kalingrad.
Handing back the region would just allow Putin to build up even further for an all out war , they really want Odessa and a link to Transdniestria. It would then virtually land lock Ukraine.
@SW-User I was really curious - you'd be surprised, Western media (North Amercia) focuses upon the emotional elements, while they matter are not an answer either, yet wars continue to this day from how stupid humanity is from pride. I know Putin is playing a smart political game with NATO, thus rendering "Western" countries useless, as supporting Ukraine more sets up a world war. I feel for the people who are just trying to live and feed their child.

(Sadly what I have also learned, no one is right)

Yep Trump is the worst choice for peace, it is a green light for Russia. China will also have the green light for Taiwan.

@SW-User it is so strange to hear so many people stating we have to do everything we can to stop tRump from winning, that it would be an existential disaster. I never thought I'd hear anything like that in the US.

Ukrainian did a good defence but if don’t sign a compromise I think will be Russian victory

'coronation' is quite an appropriate metaphor here. If anyone other than Putin is elected, well, let's say I'll be very surprised!
@supersnipe Yeah, so will his opponent.

If Putin wins in Ukraine he will have access to the Ukrainian army. That would really make Europe vulnerable. 😳

@walabby actually Ukraine army apart from already burnt western tanks only has old iron from Soviet era

Wouldn't expect anything less from him.

Of course not. His boss demands it.
