It (or the people responsible for its existence) doesnt much believe in the rule of law either. In my opinion it should have been abolished when the ussr became russia, fast forward to now, yes this is very much behind the latest crisis whatever else we think about the politics of that part of the world, and dont forget we now take the presence of nukes in our lives...very casually.

I think it’s beneficial

I don’t support military aggression like in Afghanistan but overall I support NATO

People say NATO is antagonizing Russia because countries close up it are joining
But those countries are joining because they have been invaded or influenced by Russia, don’t want that anymore and are joining NATO to protect themselves

On paper is seems like a good idea. In reality, it's a bunch of whiny pain in the ass countries who are looking for the US to protect them. Trump was 100% right when he reprimanded them. I recall the left becoming unhinged.

It should be taken further. In my opinion, all the countries involved need to pony up 100% of outstanding contributions to the effort before another dime is contributed by the US. If that can't happen, time to pull out and leave them to defend themselves.
