I think it’s beneficial
It served a purpose of opposing the Soviet Union
And it continues to give its members some assurance for their national security
I don’t support military aggression like in Afghanistan but overall I support NATO
People say NATO is antagonizing Russia because countries close up it are joining
But those countries are joining because they have been invaded or influenced by Russia, don’t want that anymore and are joining NATO to protect themselves

NATO was literally founded to antagonize Russia and keep Europe under American control.
NATO was not really a thing taken seriously in Ukraine till the 2014 coup in Kiev and suddenly it is top priority. That was the last straw.
