John Kerry as Gas Prices Skyrocket: “We Absolutely Don’t” Need to Drill For More Oil

Joe Biden’s Climate Envoy John Kerry (who served in Viet Nam) hosted a discussion with the USC Center for Public Diplomacy over the weekend.

John Kerry is the perfect person to be in charge of reducing carbon emissions since he owns several mansions, a mega yacht and flies in private jets.

John Kerry said “we absolutely don’t” need to drill for more oil and gas during last weekend’s discussion.

Kerry made the remarks as gas prices soared to new record highs this week.

The cost of gas at the pump rose 55 cents in May to reach new highs almost every day of the month

US Producer Price Index rose 0.8% in May from a month earlier. In April the PPI climbed 0.4%. The number indicates the price crunch consumers are facing under the Joe Biden economy.

Americans are being forced to make changes to their lifestyle because gas is $5+ a gallon nationwide.

Instead of drilling for more oil here at home, Joe Biden plans on begging the Saudis for more oil.

But the US can’t drill.

We are so lucky to have economic geniuses like Kerry to drive the country further
into oblivion.

John Kerry is a great example of the unfortunate American system of "failing upwards".

He was born into the correct family, went to the proper schools, and bonded with the right people. He is taken care of by these people for the express purpose of going around and promoting their agenda. He can be an utter failure as a soldier, a Senator, Presidential Candidate, and Ambassador, but he will never experience the consequences of those failures.

You are correct that he does not care about the average American and their concerns.

He got his, he's being taken care of, and fuck everyone else...he'll be on his yacht not concerning himself with any of this.

Kerry is just another America-hating Democrat tool who needs to shut up and go away.
Fossil fuels wont last forever. This pain had to come sooner or later.
@Budwick We sharing a platform Bud?

Weather we drill for more or not..the oil companies are going to get theirs and continue with their record breaking profits.... this is a give and take situation and as long as people continue to drive drive and drive..they(oil companies) will raise the prices... its just the game and how its played

IF the American people can pick 1 week and drive minimal... not saying stay home but take out the careless driving and drive the "demand" down.... then process will come down with it. Yet that wont happen and fingers will still point to band-aids and not the solution. If you need an example..look at the time when covid was taking place and you could no go places...gas prices were rock bottom because demand was down.

Kerry is the worst pompous ass in government today. And that’s saying something
Thinkerbell · 41-45, F
Kerry is a first-class fool, like most of the rest of this wretched administration. 🙄

He was given and holds a “sympathy position”. Someone felt sorry for him, put a bug in Biden’s ear and ergo, Johnny got a brand new bag! It’s a few pegs down from The Secretary of State. And whatever he says, he’s most likely by old to.
All he’s really associated with.

If kerry had a nickle for every time he said he served in Viet Nam.....oh wait, he does

I don’t know if it’s the same in the US, but here in the U.K. most of the price of oil is tax. If governments actually have a shit about people they’d just lower the tax to compensate the rise.
Budwick · 70-79, M
@WintaTheAngle That's an excellent point. There's a lot of tax on gasoline here too.
boudinMan · 61-69, M
@WintaTheAngle i don't know if the federal gas tax makes up most of the price... i don't think it does, but it makes up a big chunk of it. in the past, i know they have reduced or eliminated it, but not sure that has happened this go round.
WintaTheAngle · 41-45, M
@Budwick @boudinMan Yeah. I understand that taxes have to be paid, especially after the last two years. But when people have money in their pockets they spend more and tax comes from that too. You’d think the government would have people on it. I guess not.

And he, like every other sitting representative, has no control over oil production.
Imagine that, will you? Oil companies control how much oil they produce and ship.
And how much they charge.
Unbridled capitalism, bud. Should make you feel all warm and fuzzy inside.
Budwick · 70-79, M
@Carla Carla - the pandemic is over. The war in Ukraine should have no effect on our ability to drill.
Carla · 61-69, F
@Budwick as soon as i figure it out bud, you are going to become my first and only block.
Have a nice life.
Adios.

@Budwick i dont like the high prices yet i can EASILY afford ...it sucks and more so i hate the idea of people stressing over "gas" of all things.....

https://www.usatoday.com/story/money/economy/2022/05/07/oil-company-record-profits-2022/9686761002/

there is a bit of reading and once again .... it seems as if greed can get the best of these companies at times..and i am probably wrong in that assumption.

That's cool that you are not affected by a commodity item that has more than doubled in cost.
