Instead of letting others here tell me what I think, here are some of MY views on politics, government, the military, the world and some other things.

I’ve finally had it with snarky commenters telling me inaccurately what I think and looking to pick fights rather than think.

HERE GOES:

I am opposed to imperialist sheriffing by the US. Our carriers shouldn’t be randomly floating world wide poised to bomb the hell out of some vastly outweaponed country for non transparent reasons while at the same time being sitting ducks waiting to be sunk by existing sophisticated weaponry. My point is that with technology AND the stealth fighters and bombers the US has developed using old carriers basically as island airstrips easily extended plane range. I see that as a better choice than scrapping or scuttling them now. What type of “world police person” the US is or has been needs to be in the rear view. Between Biden DeSantis Haley and Trump, guess who is most likely to espouse that view? Crazy right. While I did support Trump in 2016 and in fact was a delegate to the RNC convention that nominated him, he is way far away in my rear view. If I had to choose among the four, I’d pick Haley despite her hawkish pronouncements and hope it’s tough talking to distinguish herself from the field only. DeSantis is a Trump wannabe and too much of a wuss to openly disagree with him. Trump’s baggage disqualifies him as does his age and basically way out of shape unhealthy appearance. A walking heart attack. Biden is even older. We see weekly the RIGHT NOW Biden is a doddering old fool. Time will make that even worse if possible. You may had read previously my opinion that a candidate should be no more than 60 on the day the first term oath is taken. It’s not a disqualifier for running for reelection if the first requirement is met. At most out of office at 68. Biden’s appearance and action validate the he’s too old argument. Even RFK, Jr. is too old as is Cornell West. I would seriously consider either if they were ten years younger. There is a reason that presidents appear to have aged 20 years after being in office for 8. It’s a grueling job. The only three recent presidents meeting my age requirement are BO, WJC and GWB. While disagreeing with some policies of all three, history so far has been kind to all of them and their standing among presidents will only increase as time goes by. Maybe in the future medical advances my change my age criteria because historically people with money and sense age better and better every decade. We should be ashamed of ourselves for having two such horrible frontrunners both of whom we have seen in action and have failed us. At least the republicans are on the right track age wise. The democrats irresponsibly do not have a VP in office capable of being president. Had they not failed us we would have three qualified candidates. The hypothetical VP who isn’t, DeSantis and Haley. I’d be pleased with any election outcome among them regardless of the winner and hope the nominees make sensible VP selections. I guess I’ve rambled a bit here however I’m sick and tired of being inaccurately labeled a Trump sycophant when that is patently false. Had we had any sense we would have learned from Korea and used our citizens and treasure more wisely. Not VietNam, no Ukraine, no Middle East, no lesser known blunders, a better Iran. When you think about it if Iran was India like in world approach the world would be a better place. Maybe Putin will die soon either from age, bad lifestyle or murdered and fresh ideas will flourish in Russia. Fortunately currently lined up to defend us from China’s unknown plans, a team of the US, India, Canada, the Uk, the EU and others will keep China at bay for awhile. Let’s keep Trump and Biden out of the WH and begin to understand the 21st century.

I have to say, right-wing media did an amazing job of brainwashing people into believing Trump is the anti-war, anti-globalist, anti-imperialism guy. The truth is, Trump increased drone strikes when he was president. If you really want America to stop trying to control the world, Biden is the best choice. At least he ended the Afghanistan war. Obama and Trump both said they would, but neither had the balls to do so. Only Dark Brandon did.
@jackjjackson I did answer your question. I never voted Republican, but I would if there was an election where the Republican was the lesser evil.

So, now that we got that out of the way, are you going to vote for Biden because he's the closest we have to an anti-war candidate?

No.
Jack. Say it isn't so. Say this is just a joke.
Yeah.. Aprils fools right Jack.
My heart is aching in a strange way right now.
I have always liked your political views and your style in delivering punch after counter punch with these extreme left leaning and insult throwing brow beaters.
I actually took a lot of ques from your incites over the years.
I'm not very academically savvy and most political topics get way over my head in a very short time so I found myself kind of following your lead and have grown to trust your direction as being well thought out and investigated but most importantly understood.

Now I have to say I have stopped even trying to follow politics for the most part for the last few years any more because it has all become badly choreographed spin. I mean they don't even try to make it sound plausible any more. They don't attempt to hide their Marylin Monroe's.

I pretty much figured Trump was off the table any more because of the nonstop drama being generated in failed attempt after failed attempts to discredit him. Drag his name through the mud. People for the most part avoid drama as a natural defense mechanism. So the left succeeded in eliminating him from possibility using a very simple marketing strategy. Sad. Gorilla politics.
I have friends that are still 100% Trump 2024 and I was telling them it wouldn't happen.
But I did a factory reset on my C: drive a few weeks ago and lost all my FireFox add blockers and Facebook cage and what not that I had been collecting for years.
So now I am seeing a lot of stuff on Facebook that I never saw before. Most of that stuff is political.
It is looking like there are fence jumpers in the droves regretting their Biden vote and are now wanting Trump back even with his ego. A lot of people investigating Bidens cronies and all the crap they have been getting away with. I mean like legal investigations.

I think Trump is the only one we know has the best chance at setting things right with concise accuracy and in a timely fashion. All the other possibilities are essentially untested and at this point in the game, a wild gamble. We saw what Trump can do. We need someone who can fix things the first time and move on.
Are you sure you don't think Trump is our best chance?
jackjjackson · 61-69, M
Wow. You are really up on current events. It’s amazing how ONE thing in this case the Keystone XL pipeline will CHANGE the country. And for the BETTER! @Dainbramadge
Dainbramadge · 56-60, M
@jackjjackson You know it's kind of funny about the current events thing. I normally don't get much updates on my own. Like I said I kind gave up on it for the most part. But I did that factory reset and now Facebook is flooding me with information from a billion different sources. So every morning it's like having all current events rammed into my head in 20 minutes. LOL. And of all places to receive information like this ... Facebook???? LOL
jackjjackson · 61-69, M
🤷🏼‍♂️ @Dainbramadge
SumKindaMunster · 51-55, M
So a couple of thoughts.

I agree with the consensus the the US is NOT the world police and we are sewing our own demise to continue down this Imperial path. I don't think we should have gone to war over Ukraine, and I am hesitant about Taiwan as well.

The US used to only intervene when we felt there were no other options. Perhaps that was crap, but we don't even bother to debate such things anymore. How is it that Biden can unilaterally go to war over Ukraine and send our military to support Israel without having a debate about it and getting Congress to support it? It's ridiculous we've allowed it to get this bad.

Absolutely no major candidate running is of interest to me. Of the running, only DeSantis seems like he is willing to push the social issues that Trump was willing to. He didn't bow down to Disney even when it got ugly for him. I have NO interest in war mongers and that definitely includes Nikki Haley. She's reminding me of HRC now, needing to talk tough and make threats so she can be taken seriously.

I too am moving on from Trump. I supported him as President and voted for him in 2020. But as much as he has been screwed over, it will not make things better to re-elect him. You know as well as I that people will burn this country to the ground if he is re-elected. I can't get behind that as disgusted as it makes me.

Biden is a decrepit old man. Anyone who has had to care for an elderly relative knows exactly what is going on with him and they are appalled that this guy is ostensibly running the country. I wouldn't trust the guy to make his own dinner, but somehow we are trusting him to run this country and go up against Putin and Xi. I know multiple long term, progressive Democrats who registered Republican this year because they cannot and will not vote for Biden.

Did you watch the Newsome/DeSantis debate? This might be a preview for whom we will actually select next year in 2024.
SumKindaMunster · 51-55, M
@jackjjackson I would guess his chief of staff and administrative staff are complicit in this. Have you seen how they sometimes run interference for him at events where Biden is asked questions?
jackjjackson · 61-69, M
How much do you think the child that gives press briefing knows? @SumKindaMunster
SumKindaMunster · 51-55, M
@jackjjackson Nothing. She's a spokesperson. She just says what she is told to say. She stays on message.
It's difficult to put this succinctly, however, when we vote for a president, we are voting for party, policy promises as well as the individual himself/herself.

We live in the uniparty era. The differences between republicans and democrats are mostly an illusion.

As far as issues facing the country, I'd rank their importance as follows (your mileage may vary):
1. Illegal immigration
2. National debt
3. Inflation & economy
4. Three letter agencies compromised
5. Energy independence
6. Foreign policy/wars (imperialist sheriff)
7. Crime
8. Others

Which candidate's policies will best address the issues? I still think it's Trump, despite his age.
jackjjackson · 61-69, M
If it’s him and Biden of course I agree. It’s so sad that’s our choice. Your list is pretty comprehensive. We actually had number 5 fixed until Biden totters into office. It can easily be refined starting with the Keystone Pipeline. Now we fast forward to 2028. Who will stay the course assuming Trump fixes 5 which helps 3. The first time around Trump promised action on 4. Are they just too damned embedded? It goes at least back to the Dulles brothers may they rot in hell. One conniving at the CIA out of control and the other running foreign policy out of control. So with 5 being taken care of I would move 6 & 7 up and worry about 8 later. Great list! @BizSuitStacy
Slade · 56-60, M
Why are you even mentioning Cornell West as a hypothetical? He's a racist, insane old fool

He's Al Sharpton with worse hair
jackjjackson · 61-69, M
He is on some ballots so he IS a candidate and is Jill Stein. Stein is also too old. @Slade
Slade · 56-60, M
@jackjjackson Age is absolutely the last issue with those 2 buffoons
jackjjackson · 61-69, M
They’re irrelevant however I’m trying to be consistent and apply the age rules I favor to all that are technically candidates.
HannahSky · F
One thing about you is you always share your view. In many ways you have a lot more insight than some of the users here who go off sound bites. They're social media trained, and we know that's not a good thing.
jackjjackson · 61-69, M
A journeyman at best. @HannahSky
HannahSky · F
@jackjjackson not initially, but he had injuries
jackjjackson · 61-69, M
How do they look this coming year? Dumping Kapler has to help. @HannahSky
I'll be voting for whomever can give women their rights back and who is an ally to the LBGTQIA community. Amongst so many other things. But honesty, I can see a war breaking out in the US. We are tired of the lies and propaganda.
jackjjackson · 61-69, M
Never wrote that. As I wrote at the very beginning I wrote:

THIS APPLIES TO YOU PERHAPS MORE THAN ANYONE ELSE

@LordShadowfire
@jackjjackson
Never wrote that.
Up to your usual lying ways? Here's a screenshot. Argue with your own words, liar.
jackjjackson · 61-69, M
@LordShadowfire that does not refer to LGQTB rights as you claim. You do nothing BUT lie.
sarabee1995 · 26-30, F
We're in agreement in your presidential opinions (no to Trump & Biden, qualified yes to Nikki).

But I'm curious about your statements related to the Navy.
- Are you advocating using carriers as "floating air strips" for stealth bombers (B2, B21)? You know this is not possible, right?
- Or do you simply mean for stealth strike aircraft (F35)? Not possible for most carriers today, but capacity for the C-variant is being added to the carrier fleet.
- Or, lastly, did you mean stealth fighters (F22)? Again, not possible. There is no naval variant of the Raptor.

I'm seriously just trying to figure out what you meant by that statement.
jackjjackson · 61-69, M
I think they should just be recalled from worldwide use and was attempting to use them for something close to home. @sarabee1995
sarabee1995 · 26-30, F
@jackjjackson Ahhh, recall the Navy. Got it.

So then you'd also want to recall the Army and Air Force from around the world? Am I right there?

On that I would respectfully disagree, but of course I am biased being in the military. That would leave an enormous power vacuum in the world that would be filled by someone.

jackjjackson · 61-69, M
I obviously don’t know enough even to be dangerous. Looks like quite a concentration in southern Europe and Africa. The world is a dangerous place. Nothing good could come from a power vacuum. @sarabee1995

Thanks everyone so far. For the first time ever I’ve actually some jackasses who surface in this thread. Also for those nice ones of you who write substantively I really appreciate the information you are sharing. It’s educational!
Interesting commentary. Between now, the 2nd of December and the 2024 elections it’s hard to say what will INFLUENCE them. Let’s hope it’s in the best interests of the American people.
jackjjackson · 61-69, M
Excellent. For sure that should be the universal goal. @soar2newhighs

Just be who you are on this site
Never take anything personal.
You know how it is here.
Just roll with it.
Call names.
Cuss people out.
That's what makes SW fun !
If we did not feel passionate about our opinions then it would be boring.
These topics are very sensitive.
With that being said it's ok for us to talk
about things that make us feel strongly or uncomfortable. This gives us a good reason to understand the perspectives of others who are different. Learn to embrace the diversity that we live.
jackjjackson · 61-69, M
I’m all for that. I don’t care for those who just seem to like to repetitively quibble and seem to start non substantive petty arguments instead of reasoned at least to some degree discourse. @Zonuss
I disagree with your opinion of Kamala, and don't think Biden is nearly so bad as Trump, but it wouldn't break my heart if a younger Democrat took his place.

Anything to prevent Trump from ever getting back into office.

Many others who I respect have engaged and continue to engage with me regarding that thread which has been well received. They’re capable of thoughtful dialogue unlike you. When I wrote this:

It applies to others however you are a prime example of an applicable person. Please block me and same me the time and effort.
