Instead of letting others here tell me what I think, here are some of MY views on politics, government, the military, the world and some other things.

I’ve finally had it with snarky commenters telling me inaccurately what I think and looking to pick fights rather than think.

HERE GOES:

I am opposed to imperialist sheriffing by the US. Our carriers shouldn’t be randomly floating world wide poised to bomb the hell out of some vastly outweaponed country for non transparent reasons while at the same time being sitting ducks waiting to be sunk by existing sophisticated weaponry. My point is that with technology AND the stealth fighters and bombers the US has developed using old carriers basically as island airstrips easily extended plane range. I see that as a better choice than scrapping or scuttling them now. What type of “world police person” the US is or has been needs to be in the rear view. Between Biden DeSantis Haley and Trump, guess who is most likely to espouse that view? Crazy right. While I did support Trump in 2016 and in fact was a delegate to the RNC convention that nominated him, he is way far away in my rear view. If I had to choose among the four, I’d pick Haley despite her hawkish pronouncements and hope it’s tough talking to distinguish herself from the field only. DeSantis is a Trump wannabe and too much of a wuss to openly disagree with him. Trump’s baggage disqualifies him as does his age and basically way out of shape unhealthy appearance. A walking heart attack. Biden is even older. We see weekly the RIGHT NOW Biden is a doddering old fool. Time will make that even worse if possible. You may had read previously my opinion that a candidate should be no more than 60 on the day the first term oath is taken. It’s not a disqualifier for running for reelection if the first requirement is met. At most out of office at 68. Biden’s appearance and action validate the he’s too old argument. Even RFK, Jr. is too old as is Cornell West. I would seriously consider either if they were ten years younger. There is a reason that presidents appear to have aged 20 years after being in office for 8. It’s a grueling job. The only three recent presidents meeting my age requirement are BO, WJC and GWB. While disagreeing with some policies of all three, history so far has been kind to all of them and their standing among presidents will only increase as time goes by. Maybe in the future medical advances my change my age criteria because historically people with money and sense age better and better every decade. We should be ashamed of ourselves for having two such horrible frontrunners both of whom we have seen in action and have failed us. At least the republicans are on the right track age wise. The democrats irresponsibly do not have a VP in office capable of being president. Had they not failed us we would have three qualified candidates. The hypothetical VP who isn’t, DeSantis and Haley. I’d be pleased with any election outcome among them regardless of the winner and hope the nominees make sensible VP selections. I guess I’ve rambled a bit here however I’m sick and tired of being inaccurately labeled a Trump sycophant when that is patently false. Had we had any sense we would have learned from Korea and used our citizens and treasure more wisely. Not VietNam, no Ukraine, no Middle East, no lesser known blunders, a better Iran. When you think about it if Iran was India like in world approach the world would be a better place. Maybe Putin will die soon either from age, bad lifestyle or murdered and fresh ideas will flourish in Russia. Fortunately currently lined up to defend us from China’s unknown plans, a team of the US, India, Canada, the Uk, the EU and others will keep China at bay for awhile. Let’s keep Trump and Biden out of the WH and begin to understand the 21st century.

I have to say, right-wing media did an amazing job of brainwashing people into believing Trump is the anti-war, anti-globalist, anti-imperialism guy. The truth is, Trump increased drone strikes when he was president. If you really want America to stop trying to control the world, Biden is the best choice. At least he ended the Afghanistan war. Obama and Trump both said they would, but neither had the balls to do so. Only Dark Brandon did.
jackjjackson · 61-69, M
A valid substantive point BB. I’d prefer what I wrote however drones are better than boots on the ground. Afghanistan exit wa a travesty for US, Afghan and citizens of other countries. Glad we are out however with all the brainpower in our military that fiasco should not have occurred. @BohemianBoo
@jackjjackson Drones are better than sending in troops, sure. But Obama was still wrong for using drones to continue the wars he inherited from Bush, when he could have ended those wars. And by Trump expanding the drone program, he made things even worse. The closest anti-war choice we have is Biden.
Chaos was going to follow the pull-out of Afghanistan no matter what. That's why Obama and Trump kept the war going, they were too pussy to just rip off the band-aid. Whereas Biden, who is actually anti-war, made the hard but correct decision.
jackjjackson · 61-69, M
Obama and Bush are choices we do not currently have. The only way Biden could be anti war is if he planned to start one, forgot and took a nap followed b6 ice cream instead. Surely we can do better. @BohemianBoo
@jackjjackson Biden ended a war. Trump worsened the wars he inherited from Obama. You can pretend Biden has dementia if you want, but if you actually cared about ending wars, you'd vote Biden.
jackjjackson · 61-69, M
So it seems you’re a Biden supporter. Please list five good reasons to vote for Biden WITHOUT reference to any other politicians or candidates. Also without debating his present mental acuity why should his advanced NOT be a reason to vote for someone else? Bear in mind, as I wrote above to be Trump, RFK, Jr., Cornell West and Biden are ALL too old especially considering that all will continue to age following taking the oath? @BohemianBoo
@jackjjackson

Politics is all about figuring out who the best choice is. In order to do that, we need to consider all of the realistic choices. Biden hasn't been great on the economy, but the other choice is Trump, and Biden has been much better than Trump on the economy. If we're just going to ignore all the other candidates, then there's no point in voting for anyone.

As for age, I just don't see why it matters. If a candidate is mentally sound, who cares how old they are? I don't even care about physical health that much. FDR was in a wheelchair and his economic policies were probably the best America ever had.
jackjjackson · 61-69, M
So you can’t. Candidates are not being ignored. There are six under 60 that remain. A physical Infirmity suck as those suffered by FDR and JFK is not disqualifying. Biden’s public mental lapses indicate a mental infirmity which is. You can’t justify Biden with anything besides he’s not Trump. Not a ringing endorsement. Would you vote for Harris if Biden withdrew and the opponent was Haley or DeSantis? @BohemianBoo
@jackjjackson Bruh, you're missing the point. Politics is about choosing the best choice out of a bunch of shitty choices. Saying "you can't defend Biden without bringing up other candidates" is antithetical to politics. I can easily list five reasons why Biden is the best choice out of our current choices, but in order to do that, I need to talk about the other choices.

And yes, Harris would be much better than Haley or DeSantis.
jackjjackson · 61-69, M
So you support the blue and who cares why. Got it. @BohemianBoo
@jackjjackson No, I support the best possible choices we have. I think Bernie Sanders would be a better president than Biden or Trump. However, Bernie isn't running, so I'm going to vote for Biden. I'm not thrilled, but Biden is the best available choice. Do you really not understand how this works?
jackjjackson · 61-69, M
As. As you’ve explained you vote for dem candidates. Got it. @BohemianBoo
@jackjjackson As long as they're the best on policy, sure.
You don't care about policy, so you vote based on vibes.
jackjjackson · 61-69, M
My policy is clearly laid out in detail on many areas at the top of this thread. Your last response is insulting bullshit. You are on very thin ice. Have you ever voted for a Republican? If so when? If so who? @BohemianBoo
@jackjjackson So then you're going to vote for Biden, correct? Out of all the choices we have, he's the most anti-war.

No, but I have no loyalty to either party. I would vote Republican if they were the lesser evil to the Democrat they were running against.
jackjjackson · 61-69, M
More lies and failure to answer direct questions. Please block me so that I don’t have to make the effort. I gave you a chance despite observing your behavior and many warnings regarding your douchebaggery. Adios muchacho. @BohemianBoo
@jackjjackson I did answer your question. I never voted Republican, but I would if there was an election where the Republican was the lesser evil.

So, now that we got that out of the way, are you going to vote for Biden because he's the closest we have to an anti-war candidate?
jackjjackson · 61-69, M
Blocked @BohemianBoo
