Guns? Are you sure? We have several guns and they've never killed anything. In fact they have never moved or done anything on their own. Now when My husband loaded gun and pulled the trigger after aiming it at a deer, The bullet killed a deer.

But wait, I wonder if it was the person who did it???
@Coffeequilt
own a nuclear weapon
And I answered that with Scalia's reasoning. You seem to have missed it. Here, let me quote myself:
Actually, Scalia answered that one a while ago. 2A confers the right to bear arms. According to Scalia's reasoning, if you can't carry the weapon then it's not covered by 2A.
Scroll up, it's there. Now that I've answered that question TWICE, perhaps you could explain your contradiction about state authority over guns.

first you say
The States have authority for a reason.
then you say
Well I am definitely against The majority of States wide laws. Because that actually is against the Constitution.
So the states DO have authority to make gun control laws or they DON'T?? Please make up your mind (or, keep contradicting yourself - that's rather amusing too)!!!
I'm tired sweetheart.
Maybe that explains why your reading comprehension is so deficient and your "logic" is self-contradictory, LOL!!!

@ElwoodBlues Sweetheart Good night
@Coffeequilt Go to bed in your mama's basement And don't worry we liberals are keeping you safe from the gun nuts.

[sep][sep] [sep][sep]

Who are we kidding? Nobody is keeping anybody in the US particularly safe! We have FAR AND AWAY the HIGHEST gun homicide rate in the developed world!!!

Your approach of fighting guns with more guns is FAILING!!!

MasterLee · 56-60, M
This is not reported properly.

How did the child get past the metal detectors?

How is it administration did not act?

Plenty of blame here.

The administration the teacher reported to should be charged.

The kid should be charged.

The parents should be charged because they are responsible for the childs actions.

All the fluff around this is a failure to enforce laws. A systemic failure in government.

Tragic but liberals love these wedge issues to deflect responsibility.
pdockal · 56-60, M
@losthorizons
Who the fuck are you calling a moron
You made the statement that the parents should be charged so i asked ....

Calling names shows just how ignorant and arrogant and childish you are
losthorizons · 51-55, M
Stifle it dippy. If I want anymore shit out if you, I’ll squeeze your head@pdockal
They're supposed to keep their gun/s under lock and key. We have two hand guns and they're both in safes. They're weapons. @pdockal
Anielka · F
No people with guns kill people, the gun is just an instrument just like a car or knife or rock, don't be ignorant.
laotzu92 · 70-79, M
@ElwoodBlues My question for you. Why do you ask supercilious, cockamamie questions. Get off your high horse. Stop being an ass.
laotzu92 · 70-79, M
@LordShadowfire Lord shadow dick.
Good for her. A shame that it’s necessary, but maybe, if school districts and gun-owning parents start getting sued, maybe those who aren’t taking this seriously will start. It’s ridiculous that the child having access to a gun was already known to the school. He shouldn’t have been allowed back in class.
helenS · 36-40, F
@bijouxbroussard Of course the child shouldn’t have been allowed back in the classroom, but things go wrong. Always. No administration is perfect. Usually that's just one of those things, not worth mentioning, but when there are hundreds of millions of privately owned guns in a country, anything that goes wrong will result in a horrible catastrophe for everyone, the teacher, the child, the school's administration, and the child's family. Imagine you're the child's mother 😢
SevIsPamprinYouAlways · 56-60, F
@ElwoodBlues

I think this is the scenario they’re emvioning:

[image deleted]
@helenS
Imagine you're the child's mother
I can’t. I don’t keep a gun in my home. And I can’t imagine not going through everything a six year old owned if a teacher told me my child had been bringing a gun to class. Not to mention dragging the kid to get some kind of counseling.
spjennifer · 56-60, T
No, no, thoughts and prayers to the poor gun as it was misused and abused as obviously guns don't kill people 😖
MasterLee · 56-60, M
People kill people
@MasterLee Nope. I'm not a 2nd Amendment purist.

You NRA types built the world where 6 yr olds can and do shoot teachers. And now you refuse to take responsibility for the world you built.
MasterLee · 56-60, M
[image deleted]@ElwoodBlues
@MasterLee Trump didn't create that world, you NRA types did. And now you refuse to take responsibility for the world you built.

BE honest: you claimed Sandy Hook was a phony event with "crisis actors," didn't you. You'll embrace the most absurd premise in order to protect your sacred guns. SAD!!!
Abstraction · 61-69, M
The parents and school should be charged for neglect. This is about using the law to strengthen accountability. Justice is not just about fixing what happened - it's about fixing the systems and failed responsibilities that contributed.

The six year old child should not be charged. People who think so need to perhaps move on from the dark ages or perhaps explain their technical definition of criminal responsibility as it relates to ages and maturity of children and how they came to this conclusion and why this outweighs contemporary research on children's brain development in relationship to comprehending consequences and severity of their actions.
helenS · 36-40, F
@Abstraction Thank you 🌷
I didn't know that – in fact I couldn't imagine. 😕
The parents should be charged. The child is their responsibility. @Abstraction
Abstraction · 61-69, M
@Spoiledbrat Agree, that's what I said in very my opening statement. And since the school had been warned the child had a gun... they demonstrated neglect.
justanothername · 51-55, M
Republicans and the NRA are going to be going into overdrive trying to justify the right to own a firearm with this death.

Not very bloody thirsty at all..
@losthorizons 9th booster! 🤣🤣🤣🤣 🇺🇸 MAGA!
pdockal · 56-60, M
@justanothername
what death?
Justify what?

explain how the gun acted without the intervention of somebody?

A gun is an object that needs somebody to pull the trigger.

It is a failure of society when a 6 year old takes a gun to school unnoticed! 🙄🙄🙄 The precious child is 6 years old so I am honestly not mad at the poor child as a 6 year old realistically is not old enough to fully understand the seriousness of this however the parents have terrible responsibility if they don't even notice their own child took a gun to school at age 6! 😭😭😭 It is pretty nuts in my opinion! 😭😭😭 If the precious child gets punished for this (at only 6 bless him) then please punish the parents double for being irresponsible! 😤😤😤
pdockal · 56-60, M
Ughhhhh
Here we go again
Hysteria
PEOPLE KILL PEOPLE ..... regardless of age
@pdockal No. I just know better than to waste my time explaining the subtle nuances of this to someone who doesn't understand basic grammar.
pdockal · 56-60, M
@LordShadowfire
Sheesh on the grammer again
This is the fucking internet @ SW
Get over yourself
I'm NOT publishing a paper
Im not writing a report
Ughhhhh
OMG
How do i always find uneducated people who have nothing to say except to change the subject
Bub bye
Good luck
I'm done
@pdockal Yeah, you are done.
DearAmbellina2113 · 41-45, F
I wish the gun had never been invented.
SusanInFlorida · 31-35, F
a school board meeting has been scheduled to dismiss the superintendent.

i don't think this will limit the district's legal liability, however.

why isn't the school principal being fired too? That's the first line of defense.
losthorizons · 51-55, M
No, people kill people
@losthorizons Right. You're literally sitting there telling me a six-year-old child could overpower a teacher and beat her to death with a baseball bat, and I'm the one who's dippy. Whatever. Take your NRA propaganda somewhere else.

I think the parents should be charged.
@Eddiesolds I don't understand how they haven't been. They clearly didn't have that gun properly stored.
Eddiesolds · 61-69, M
@LordShadowfire I agree. They are responsible. 6 years old. Wow!!
Come on how hard is it to ignore a a 6 year old having a gun
Amylynne · 26-30, F
And stupid kills people too.
helenS · 36-40, F
How horrible – also for the parents 😢
Jonjdw · 46-50, M
The teacher is not dead. Yes from what I understand the school did not want to believe or do anything. So the school might be at some fault.
SevIsPamprinYouAlways · 56-60, F
@Jonjdw Teacher here. If there’s a documented paper trail, the school district will definitely be at fault.
America needs the stochastic violence to even exist.
The country ignores a whole lot of things.
You're back.
War forever.
SW-User
The teacher was a lot braver than I would have been. If I knew a student had a gun, ain't no way I'd stay and teach!
To ignore the teacher and allow the student to stay, that's just ignorance and neglect.

"A Virginia teacher who was shot by a six-year-old student during class will sue the school district, the teacher’s attorney announced Wednesday.

Diane Toscano, a lawyer for Abigail Zwerner, said Wednesday that on the day of the shooting, concerned teachers and employees warned administrators three times that the boy had a gun on him and was threatening other students, “but the administration could not be bothered.”

Police Chief Steve Drew has repeatedly characterized the shooting as “intentional,” saying the boy aimed at Zwerner and fired one round, striking her in the hand and chest. Zwerner was hospitalized for nearly two weeks but is now recovering at home, a hospital spokesperson said."

https://www.aol.com/virginia-teacher-shot-six-old-172109170.html

Ignorance, neglect and all that good stuff.... the gun was not locked up and these parents knew the child had an "acute disability" and that gun should never have been able to be accessed.

Don't blame a gun for what others did wrong.
I won't argue this with anyone. I just don't believe this would have happened if people had been doing things right.
In the Uk, children feom 10 years old can be charged as they are considered to be of an age where they can determine right from wrong.

6, however, no.

But, without knowing too much about this, if the teacher has raised a concern, then it should have been addressed, regardless of the age of a child.
Yea take that lord shadow shithead. Lol
Jesus, what are you, 6!?
losthorizons · 51-55, M
@LordShadowfire no dippy. The shooter was. Pay attention dippy. We are losing you
@losthorizons Yeah, you're right. You can't be more than five years old.

How in the sweet fuck can the parents be in denial at that level?

@InOtterWords to be fair this kid does sound like one of those little lunatics that had no buisiness being in a regular classroom outside of an asylum based on reports.
@MethDozer have someone committed for mental health reasons is very different to charging them with a crime
MethDozer · M
@InOtterWords I'm honestly not sure if I have much issue charging him with something.
MethDozer · M
@InOtterWords i'd have to think about it and not sure if I could ever come to a definitive answer.

The kid should probably be charged too. @MarmeeMarch
