The shows keep interrupting the commercials

I can fast forward through all the commercials other have referenced, but they also stopped paying writers for plots, dialogues, actual stories and shows figuring that special effects and computer generated cartoons/graphics were cheaper. Same as Hollywood and all the streaming services. Timothy Leary's advice to "tune out" has never been more appropriate, although the context has changed from the 60s.

🤔..............Cancelled my Cable TV and just kept my internet service to save $200 a month..........Since I never watched TV for years and only stream ..........

Adverts. Adverts. Adverts.

That's it really.

But it's not too much of a complaint. The mute button always works.
2019? I tuned out at some point after the millennium.
The commercials. The local news stations.
Because its not free and local and on the air.

I haven't watched network tv since 2003, I'm not sure what changed in 2019

@ViciDraco Something happened which started a global pandemic. I noticed a change in people who followed the news. The media seemed to have gained too much influence and I became distrustful of sponsored broadcasts.

I'm not sure I have entirely ... I mean for instance, I watch The Blacklist with a delay on Netflix, ended up finishing Person of Interest on Netflix (after originally beginning it on broadcast television), and so forth ...

I don't watch much TV. I watch what I want online.
