Let’s start a list of cities that have been ravaged by crime for decades and have been controlled by democrats for the same decades.

I’ll start:

Philadelphia
Chicago
San Francisco
Los Angeles
Minneapolis

Please continue ……
Cool. Now list the rural areas that have been ravaged by crime and poverty and are controlled by Republicans.

The obsession conservatives have with cities as hotbeds of crime is weird. Crime is lower today than it was in the 1970s and 1980s when most of them were growing up. I think it's just reported more now. Back then, parents let their kids out in the morning and didn't see them until dinner, and nobody cared. Now you can't even leave your kids at the park without someone calling CPS on you.
@jackjjackson Dude, you're the one who's pearl-clutching over the fact that trans women exist. Straight men aren't threatened by that.
jackjjackson · 61-69, M
My comment is strictly regarding sports competition. Naturally born women competitor for the most part hate it. I’ll side with and support them. @LeopoldBloom
@jackjjackson I'd like to see a credible poll before concluding that women in sports are TERFs.
Wow, Alaska, New Mexico, Tennessee, & Arkansas are the four states with the highest crime rates. What do they have in common? They are all RED and RURAL! Maybe you should look closer to home for your crime.
@pdockal . . . Fact-free, as always, LOL!!!
Seriously .... i get my info from word of mouth from people in the trenches
You still haven't explained how "people in the trenches" would know which places have a higher rate of injuries from major crimes.

and after Faucci opened good mouth well
Fauci never spoke about injuries from major crimes. Fauci talks about Covid. This is NOT a thread about Covid. You asked me "Are you even paying attention to this thread?"

Frankly, it looks like you're not paying attention to this thread, ROTFL!!!

Let's start a list of white collar crimes that have been legalized and normalized by republicans.
BlueVeins · 22-25
@jackjjackson Plot twist -- constant lying was literally always business as usual. That's how we had slavery, jim crow, & formalized oppression of women for hundreds of years; god knows nobody's be able to advocate for that shit with a straight face without lying out the wazoo.
jackjjackson · 61-69, M
So you agreed the dems introduced and perfected constant lying. Check. @BlueVeins
Reason10 · 70-79, M
@BlueVeins You won't find any.
But give it a try. We can sit here and laugh while you try.
(We know that we'd never see you again if someone told you to go into a round room and sit in the corner.)
carpediem · 61-69, M
Chicago needs a second mention being the poster child for rising crime and incompetent leadership
@carpediem When I look back on how she flayed him on Civil rights during the debates, I realize if he hadn’t been the beholden candidate, he’d have never picked her. Biden is and was owned and prayed at the altar of those who said he’d get the Oval office despite what he had to endure, aka Kamala Harris as VP.
jackjjackson · 61-69, M
JohnRing · 56-60, M
@carpediem yet doesn’t make the top ten in crime.
@jackjjackson
New York City Is a Lot Safer Than Small-Town America

Rising homicide rates don’t tell the whole story. When you dig deeper into data on deaths, you'll find the more urban your surroundings, the less danger you face.
Where's the excerpt that supports YOUR claim???
Lostpoet · M
@ElwoodBlues But i heard the rats there will eat your face off.

I moved to this nice small city in Charlotte, North Carolina many years ago. Over the years as it has grown to double the population, things started to change.
And it was run by mostly republicans. But over the years the city council screwed it all up.
Our crime is out of control now. We now have the PRIDE parade and the black community wants more and more hand outs. Lots of homeless people.
And you guessed it:
We have a democrat mayor, police chief, fire chief, governor, and city council.
Now we're just like every other democrat run city. Time to move out.

Washington DC
Baltimore
St. Louis
New Orleans
Detroit

Philadelphia
Miami

San Francisco
LA
Oakland
Portland
Seattle
Newark
NYC
Minneapolis
Houston
@jackjjackson the violence drops dramatically.
jackjjackson · 61-69, M
True but plenty remains. @BizSuitStacy
@jackjjackson
Population v Homicides
Detroit: 663,502 : 275
Surrounding Cities: 744,057 : 27
Smaller population, but 10 times the firearm homicides

Homicide rate per 100K
Detroit: 41.4
Surrounding: 3.62
US national ave: 3.4

Detroit isn't the worst city in the US, but it's a classic example of the elephant in the room that politicians, both dems and reps, refuse to address. Democrat cities run by gangs and funded by drugs. Gun control will never fix the problem.
JohnRing · 56-60, M
According to this from 2019, LA and NYC don’t even make the top 50. https://www.cbsnews.com/pictures/the-most-dangerous-cities-in-america/
Reality check: Most Democratic run cities are shit holes and breeding grounds for criminal activity. The mayors, city councils are simply mentally ineffective as their attitudes towards leniency are root causes of the crimes that occur.
Show cities that haven’t. Probably not too many. This is thanks to the current administration in power, it’s playing the race card , the influence and money of George Soros
and those who seek the ruin of this nation.
Time to be armed, locked and loaded.

@jackjjackson No, which would you recommend I start with?
jackjjackson · 61-69, M
There is a series of ones with Blackford Oakes as the protagonist, I recommend all of them. He also wrote about his sailing “adventures”. These come off as elitist and aren’t as good as the fiction. His son Christopher has also written some good fiction. @LeopoldBloom
@jackjjackson I read Joshua Slocum's account of his solo circumnavigation, and that would be a tough one to beat. Speaking of sailing memoirs, I wasn't as impressed with Richard Henry Dana's "Two Years Before the Mast" which I only read because my junior high school was named after him. But thanks, I'll put those on my list.
JohnRing · 56-60, M
Los Angeles has a relatively lis crime rate. It plummeted roughly 18 years after Roe v Wade.
@JohnRing The violent crime rate all over America plunged after peaking in the early 1990s. The "Freakonomics" authors credited Roe v. Wade, along with banning tetraethyllead additives in gasoline. However, this doesn't explain similar drops in violent crime in Europe where those factors weren't present.
Roadsterrider · 56-60, M
Baltimore, DC, Atlanta. I think it is important to separate violent crime, murder, assault, rape, from other crime such as burglary or auto theft. There is very little violent crime in rural areas, where in the cities like Baltimore, Chicago or LA, there is a weekly body count. In 2019 murder rates in cities jumped 30% and in the suburbs by 20%. There was an increase in violent crimes in rural areas but not of this kind of magnitude.

Pretty far down thr list. Doesn’t help your lame case. @independentone
@jackjjackson Pretty high murder rate though. Of course Memphis and Nashville are both very violent high crime cities in a very red state.
