San Diego? Really? That one surprises me. @melissaannecarroll
LeopoldBloom · M
@jackjjackson Why? Because you think San Diego is still a sleepy Navy town like it was in the 1960s when you were there last?
jackjjackson · M
So you’re including San Diego in the hellhole category? @LeopoldBloom
LeopoldBloom · M
@jackjjackson Hardly. I lived there and it was very pleasant. So was Portland. You need to get out of the trailer park and visit the big city once in a while instead of relying on Sean Hannity to tell you what to think about it.

It seems you watch a lot of him since you know so much 😂 @LeopoldBloom
LeopoldBloom · M
@jackjjackson Just like you watch CNN and MSNBC 24/7 to make sure you don't miss anything to complain about.
I don't have cable so I can't watch Hannity. Believe it or not, his idiocy is reported in other venues.

I READ the CNN website to see what they are up to. I read from a lot of sources and I feel I find facts on which to reasonably base opinions. @LeopoldBloom

@jackjjackson I get my information from a variety of sources, including liberal, conservative, and nonpartisan.
Accusing someone of mindlessly regurgitating partisan content is just a lazy way of dismissing their argument. As I said earlier, it's the genetic fallacy - something is wrong because of who said it.

You proved my point yet again Leo. You’ve accused me on multiple occasions of “regurgitating Hannity and Carlson many times”. Not only is that factually wrong as you state you’ve stated that you’re lazy in doing so. I agree with you. @LeopoldBloom
LeopoldBloom · M
@jackjjackson It's clear you haven't given much thought to your positions. I don't think Hannity and Carlson have either. Although it was interesting to see Hannity lobbing a few hardballs at Herschel "Abortion for me but not you" Walker the other night.
jackjjackson · M
Still enjoying Hannity? @LeopoldBloom
LeopoldBloom · M
@jackjjackson The guy is an abomination. The best I can say is he's not quite as bad as Tucker Carlson. Although, Alex Jones makes them both look like William F. Buckley.
jackjjackson · M
I don’t know the first three however I still love reading WFBJr. Ever read his novels? @LeopoldBloom
LeopoldBloom · M
@jackjjackson No, which would you recommend I start with?
jackjjackson · M
There is a series of ones with Blackford Oakes as the protagonist, I recommend all of them. He also wrote about his sailing “adventures”. These come off as elitist and aren’t as good as the fiction. His son Christopher has also written some good fiction. @LeopoldBloom

@jackjjackson I read Joshua Slocum's account of his solo circumnavigation, and that would be a tough one to beat. Speaking of sailing memoirs, I wasn't as impressed with Richard Henry Dana's "Two Years Before the Mast" which I only read because my junior high school was named after him. But thanks, I'll put those on my list.
