Was only a matter of time before Trump began throwing supporters under the bus
Trump released Bannon from the privilege in a Saturday letter to Costello, saying: "If you reach an agreement on a time and place for your testimony, I will waive executive privilege for you, which will allow for you to in and testify truthfully and fairly as per the request of the Unselect Committee of political Thugs and Hacks."
Although I wouldn't expect the answer to any relevant question to be other than "The Fifth". But it will get him Steve Bannon out from under the Contempt of Congress charges and an opportunity to repeat the Holy Grail in an opening statement. Was pretty hard for him to claim executive privilege when the White House Counsel managed to find a way to answer the subpoena while honoring both executive privilege and lawyer-client privilege.

This really does seem like a hail Mary attempt to let Bannon try and put a better face on things, but it doesnt seem likely to work.

@MistyCee

It isn't Trump who needs a Hail Mary.

Have Biden's poll numbers gone up since the start of the "hearings"? 🤔
Or the polls asking whether the country is headed in the right direction? 🤔
@Thinkerbell

Hate to break it to ya, tink...but Biden's polling numbers don't have a lot to do with the rope that the Great Orange Hope has hung himself with.

It's ok, you'll get over it in time lol

@Pikachu

Remind me again after the November midterm elections, Piksie. 😂 😂 😂
@Thinkerbell

Oh, you want to talk about another thing that has nothing to do with the corner Trump has backed himself into? Imagine my surprise lol
You really can't stand what's happening to your boy, eh?
Oh well, you'll get over it in time😁😁😁

@Pikachu

Oh, so you want to talk about anything except what a disaster Biden has been, eh, Piksie?

As for Trump, get back to me when Garland indicts and convicts him. 😂 😂 😂
@Thinkerbell

lol aww that's the spirit, kiddo! But no, i actually don't care. Not American, you see.
I'm just enjoying your miniature meltdowns every time you're reminded that Trump got fired and might get worse than that.

Chin up, Tink😁😁😁

@Pikachu I think the evidence of the illegal actions of tRump and his family is accumulating and becoming undeniable. The tRump defenders only seem to attack Biden rather than attack the evidence against tRump. Amazing!
@samueltyler2

It does seem to be sort of a compulsion for them lol
samueltyler2 · 80-89, M
@Pikachu yes, I post here every now and then to bring out their anger. They "hate" so much of what this country really means! It is embarrassing to those of us who used to feel proud patriots!
@samueltyler2

Yeah it's a little alarming tbh
samueltyler2 · 80-89, M
@Pikachu when you look at the videos of Jan 6 and realize what they tried to do, it is very frightening indeed.
@samueltyler2

Yeah that was insane. Imagine what they would be saying if those damn leftists had attempted by force to overturn the results of a democratic election.
ididntknow · 51-55, M
@samueltyler2 what did they try to do, were they armed ?
@Thinkerbell Bannon is the one whom I think needed a hail Mary, btw.
ididntknow · 51-55, M
@samueltyler2 well they haven’t got anything on him yet, have they, what about Russian collusion, how did that that little shit show go, and it only cost $43 million, purely invented by Hillary Clinton of course
samueltyler2 · 80-89, M
@ididntknow you are delusional! did you actually read the Mueller report? there is plenty on all of them, the question is whether anyone will risk the consequences of actually charging and prosecuting a former president. they should all save us the turmoil, he should man up like Nixon, admit he did wrong in return for no prosecution.
"Bannon is the one whom I think needed a hail Mary, btw."
Oh, my mistake...
Understandable, since the "hearings" by the Democrats have been an obvious Hail Mary attempt to salvage something for this November's elections, so Bannon got lost in the shuffle.

Btw, have Biden's approval ratings improved since the "hearings" started.? 😂
@Thinkerbell Because 1/6 was such a trivial event as to not merit any attention whatsoever. It’s not like it’s Hunter Biden’s laptop, after all.
"...he [Trump] should man up like Nixon, admit he did wrong in return for no prosecution."
The difference is that special prosecutor Cox had the goods and hard proof against Nixon about Watergate.

Poor old Mueller admitted in so many words on national TV that he could not conclude that anyone in the Trump campaign colluded/conspired with the Russians to influence the 2016 election, which was his principal mandate.
Thinkerbell · 41-45, F
@LeopoldBloom
"Because 1/6 was such a trivial event as to not merit any attention whatsoever."
They've had over a year and a half to "merit attention," but so far AG Garland has come up with NO insurrection indictments, and only 11 "seditious conspiracy" indictments, out of about 800 arrests.
The rest were things like criminal trespass, destruction of govt property, interference with with a govt proceeding, etc.

No, Leo, the Schiffshow "hearings" at this time are to deflect attention from the Democrats' dismal record of political disasters.

Btw, have Biden's ratings improved since the "hearings" started...? 🤔

That's ok, Piksie... even foreigners are allowed to have opinions on American politics. 😂

samueltyler2 · 80-89, M
@Thinkerbell I'd suggest you reread the report, if you ever read it before. The report clearly indicated there were several findings that warranted prosecution, but the regulations against that were ion the way. The evidence so far about the lead up to and the events of Jan 6, most of which we see with our own eyes, hear with our own ears, are clear. You have been brainwashed to say the opposite. Those in the inner circle of the former POTUS that have actually testified have taken the fifth amendment hundreds of times! As the former POTUS is reported to have said, only the guilty take the fifth!
Thinkerbell · 41-45, F
@samueltyler2
"The [Mueller] report clearly indicated there were several findings that warranted prosecution, but the regulations against that were ion the way."
Yes, yes, I know... the old saw about not indicting a sitting president.
But NOTHING prevented Mueller from making a recommendation to Congress, as Cox and Starr had done before with Nixon and Clinton. The Democrats in Congress in fact would have been EAGER for such a recommendation, in order to proceed with an impeachment.

Unfortunately for them, Mueller made such a fool of himself on national TV for 6 hours that the Democrats avoided mentioning Mueller as little as possible thereafter.
@Thinkerbell

lol just so cute how much effort you put into writing me poetry complete with graphics. A bit clumsy, sure, but cute. Sadly that only serves to betray your frustration at what's happening to your saggy old pussy grabber.🤭

Thanks for the special attention, Tink. Show's that i'm getting under your skin...😁😁😁
samueltyler2 · 80-89, M
@Thinkerbell there is no comparison between Cox and Starr and either Mueller or Comey for that matter. And, despite the inability to convict the former POTUS, he was impeached twice, the only president to have such happen, and he certainly benefitted handsomely from the perks of the office.
