Do Republicans actually want the Evangelical Church to rule their daily lives?

The gist of the passage is that a man accuses his wife of being unfaithful without any proof so she's given dirt mixed with water or some such to drink and "supposedly" if she had been unfaithful she would burst open but if she hadn't been unfaithful nothing would happen. Obviously nothing happens so it's assumed she's innocent.

I wouldn't be at all surprised that there were substances already known way back then that could be used to cause abortions but I can't recall anywhere in the bible that even hints at it. Certainly the Egyptians were already aware of how to prevent pregnancies.

The real issue here is that she was accused without proof. If there had been proof that she was unfaithful an abortion would have been the least of her worries.
