Do Republicans actually want the Evangelical Church to rule their daily lives?

I think it's a combination of the two. Evangelicals are clearly prone to fear, enemies and being told what to do. But where I can't connect the dots is that they love to scream and whine about "Freedom." Yet when freedom is so greatly restricted, as it is with abortion laws, they don't blink. That's where the systematic brainwashing comes in to play.
