I can't begin to imagine a CAT 5 hurricane, but I've seen some nasty weather.
TOP 3:
1. Thunderstorm.
Its winds shook our 3 storey brownstone, and drove trees & rain horizontal. Woke me from a deep sleep.
Couldn't see out the window for the rain. We were going to the basement when it cleared.
Later learned it spawned a tornado 20 miles away.
2.Thunder-snowstorm late March shut down the city. Violent flashes as snow fell in fist sized clumps.Everything iced up.
Meanwhile, I was out walking, enjoying the spectacle.
3. We had rain recently unlike anything I knew possible.
Large drops, pummelling the house like hail. Genuinely concerned about shingle damage.
