We don't use any, we carry a tractor bucket full of gravel in the back of the trucks for weight to help with traction and if we do get stuck. That helps with that to.

For melting snow, we use wood ash and gravel mix. Plus its non toxic to livestock and its healthy for plants in the spring

(We burn wood for heating and cooking)

@HumanEarth I use and do as you do my friend minus the gravel. I just roll with a bed full of firewood.

I don't. If I can't get out of my driveway, I can still survive on delivery. Any delivery company worth its salt (pun intended) is going to have at least one vehicle with four-wheel drive. I have them go up and down my driveway until there's a nice little groove I can follow out.

I don't. I have no idea what building maintenance uses...but it gets all over everything, and gets tracked into the building.

Solar power works perfectly in a desert that gets hardly any snow. 🙃
