Always amazed at how people who quite possibly had never heard of this man before are now so vehement in their opinion, either pro or anti.

I am from the UK. And from the little I have seen on here and even through social media and the news is that. Despite whatever message he may have been promoting it has inflamed and enraged people.
I personally have tried to do a little research into the things he said. Especially in regards to the Martin Luther king civil rights act, he was stating that the act was too broad.
He basically said it's allowing people from other movements to use the act as a way to vindicate what they want.
I will say it left me feeling really confused and hurt and I stopped digging further.
Do I agree with this? Personally I don't know enough about it to say yes or no.
Do I think by him saying this would upset people? yes.
And unfortunately this is the point...
In this situation that is all we should be looking at and trying to understand.
Assassinations are terrible and I think this is an example of why gun control needs to be looked at.
But there's also the standpoint that when you stand up and vocalise strong opinions you should be prepared to face the harsh reality that you will be challenged.
I think there are a lot of people that feel him having the platform he did was actually creating a divide, and an angry one.
The world needs more harmony not more chaos.
It seems like the more people fight for acceptance the further apart we grow.

@Mellowgirl are they not currently locking people up for posting memes that are found offensive. What happened to your free speech? Not violent memes not memes that are racist just freedom of speech and people are being arrested in the u.K
Mellowgirl · 31-35, F
@helsbels I'm not sure if you're pushing to try and get me to apologize, but my point is very clear.
We have politicians here in the UK that have said things they stand by, they have had eggs, milkshake and tomatoes thrown at them. That statement I made would still apply.
It's not nice to have someone throw something at you, perhaps if it were America they would have been shot.
I don't condone the use of guns, food or any other form of violence. But just like a street brawl it doesn't start out of nowhere, someone's provoked the other person and they lost control.
Now this person has been caught, he will trialed and sentenced. That should offer some sort of justice to the family, unfortunately it won't bring back the father of those children left behind.

@dale74 people are being arrested for protesting and supporting what the police deem terr***st groups.
I haven't seen anything about being arrested for memes.

I don't believe he was a good man. In fact, I believe he promoted hatred. I believe his positions supported violence by society towards the marginalized. Being murdered does not make him a good person.
But he was murdered. There should be no celebration of murder. That is not the society I wish to live in. I feel bad that his children have a lost a father. There are surviving friends and family that suffer his loss.

Sure thing. That's why the Civil Rights Act in 1964 passed with 100% Republican support and 23% Democrat.
You are spectacularly bad at this beta boy
I don't worship Democrats the way you do Republicans. Certainly not before the party switch in the '40s, lol. We are not cultists like you are.

Of course I am not celebrating his death. Any and all gun violence is something we should all be working to address.
That doesn't mean that I agreed with him. It doesn't mean that I'll keep silent when he's raised up on a pedestal. Speaking against his message is *not* Celestine celebrating his death.

If you dislike him then you dislike free speech.
All he did was provide a platform for public debates if you had a view opposite of his you were allowed to express it and explain why you felt this way.
Like wise he may disagree but he explained why and he asked you to defend your point of view.

Winning? Winning what exactly?
You're free to worship Charlie Kirk.
Simply give those of us who saw him as a provacateur that spoke hateful rhetoric, and hid behind the veil of Christianity, the right to not worship and praise him.
I find it bizarre that a man who at the time of his death, worth $12 million (according to a website that covers financial and investment news) would need a GoFundMe.

Im NOT "Celebrating" his Death... IF anything like I said I feel for his daughters that's FKED up they have to grow up without a father and that's coming from someone who has always wanted a daughter... But other than that I DONT AGREE he was some "Great Man" that was going to save our country... But NO I don't wish death on Nobody... So there's that for what it's worth
Very nice photo of the couple, her speech was moving.

@Thrust Yes. The image of her mourning over her husband's coffin is etched into my mind.
Yet she still gave a very moving Christ centred speech.

I never heard of him before he was murdered. Was told he was a good Christian and a great patriot, that I should go watch his videos. I did and to me he is neither.
DarthInvader · 36-40, M
The trajectory of such movements usually ends in decline, leaving them as shadows of their former selves. Kirk never groomed a successor, he was TPUSA. Right now, the organization is running on grief fuel. Give it a year or two, and most people will forget it even exists. With factions already brewing within MAGA, there may even be an offshoot or two. All in all, the likeliest outcome is that TPUSA fades into irrelevance over the next year, though perhaps I’ll be proven wrong.
carpediem · 61-69, M
@DarthInvader Save this post and look back on it in 2 years. I predict you'll be proven wrong

What has being a woman and a man who thinks he’s a woman got to do with this. I would keep your opinion to yourself like the rest us on political matters and gender war.

@NativePortlander1970 I doubt there are enough armed people on the left for a civil war to happen. People keep crying about civil war being imminent, but there aren't that many people willing to engage in violence. Property damage maybe, but property damage isn't really a civil war.
KateATX · 41-45, F
@NativePortlander1970 we are at the moment. We are prepared. My husband is an Army Ranger who sacrificed his life for his country. It’s been a hard road for us. I hope you find God and Jeaus.
@KateATX I am so very sorry for your loss :( I used to be a believer, however hearing the doctors working on a toddler girl under cardiac arrest and then pronouncing her death shattered my already rocky faith, I was in icu recovering from my first bout of blood clots in my lungs. I was 43 and already lived a full life she was only 3 and just starting out in life, I should have died but survived, she died, I broke down bawling like a little kid when the dr pronounced he, I was praying like I never prayed before, wjat kind of god lets a little kid get sick like that and die in pain like that? No, god I want to follow, her death had fucked my mind ever since, I still wake up crying at times. It took me three months to fully recant after that.
