🤔 Great point! Let 'em in, hand them a duty i.e. Military, Infrastructure, Student, have everyone pay taxes and let's move forward.
Depends on the context of the subject.
If we're talking about the continents, then yes.
If we're talking about the country, then usually those from USA are called Americans. As that is what they go by, where those from other countries usually go by something else.

[@humbleguy ] 🤔well they are not americans technically as some are countries in there own right . it is like there are a lot of countries in one land mass in the northern hemisphere and it collectively know as europe

It sounds nice, but confuse a Canadian with an American and they aren’t happy.

Technically, that's true. All regions you listed are parts of an American continent.

Yes, everyone in the Americas are Americans
People in the US need a more specific demonym that is more geographically accurate and less self-absorbed, since the entire ladmass (or two, if you prefer the whole north/south/Anglo/Latin distinction for some reason) was named after Amerigo Vespucci

@BlueGreenGrey I've heard this before, but I find it interesting that it never seems to be the other countries in the Americas that are complaining about this.
Usually it's Americans or someone in the Eurasia.
Heck, technically, geographically speaking Europe and Asia are one continent, Eurasia not two, but we let them call themselves whatever they want...

Only US citizens are called Americans because the USA is the most relevant country. South and Central America don't matter as much. Canada is not good enough to be included with the USA. And they all count on the fact that they are fortunate enough to be adjacent to the USA

Yes, just like it's the Gulf of America.

Well, the country of USA has the word America in it, so that that’s why they use it.
