Any opera fans here? See Below. Enjoy and please add to it. I love listening and discovering.

Add a favorite composer, singer, aria, opera here:
I have a background in Opera.
Although, I have studied them all, I would have to say Mozart is my favorite ( My ultimate favorite piece would have to be the Requiem Mass in D Minor in its entirety) and with Verdi at a close second. My favorite colluratura is Leontyne Price and Lucia Popp holds a close second. As for the men, Mario Lanza's voice makes me swoon and then there are everyone's favorite 3 Tenors. Pavarotti, Domingo and Carreras. And close to my heart is Mario Lisanti although I can no longer find anything on YouTube about him I know he also coached Phoebe Snow. I have included some of my favorites here:

*Just a little fun fact about me*
( I absolutely insisted that Lucia Popp's version of the Laudate Dominum was played at my wedding as my bridal party came down the aisle in church. I entered with my father as the "Amen" solo began singing from behind the doors ) the church thought I was crazy. It was a favorite piece of mine and I dedicated it to the souls that could not be there with me that day . many of them who had gone down that aisle before me laid to rest. My now ex-husband ever the punk rocker and death metal god still harasses me about that to this day LOL.

I absolutely love a scene in Massenet's Manon. The hero has fallen in love with her. After months of bliss together and following a condemnatory visit from his father, she leaves him. In despair he rushes off to become a priest. She eventually hears of it, turns up at Notre Dame just as he's about to be ordained, and pulls out all the stops to win him back. It takes some doing but her cry of "Enfin" when she realises she's won is a real tear-jerker. The Victoria de los Angeles performance is my favourite but the digital remastering is poor,

@LaLumieri Thank you very much!!. I hope they don't disappoint. Looking forward to hearing from you. Dvorak's Rusalka is also worth a listen, especially the Silver Moon aria. Happy listening.

Wouldn't call myself a fan, but I do occasionally watch opera -- or at least try to. Favorite is probably Wagner, unless you;re including light opera, then Gilbert and Sullivan.

@LaLumieri My favorite was RUDIGORE, the version featuring Vincent Price. It was part of a REALLY old VHS set of all the G&S operas.

@ChipmunkErnie I absolutely adore everything Gilbert and Sullivan I don't think I've ever seen Vincent Price in this capacity thank you so much for sharing

@LaLumieri There was a 2-box set of the complete Gilbert and Sullivan I bought on VHS -- I think all original BBC productions. Years later the set was re-released on DVDs, but for some reason RUDIGORE was left out of the DVD set.
I don't think i'd call myself an opera fan since i don't seek it out to listen to it but when i do come across it i enjoy it.
Although seeing this first dude in a leather jacket singing operatically is kind of strange to me lol
