I have a background in Opera.
Although, I have studied them all, I would have to say Mozart is my favorite ( My ultimate favorite piece would have to be the Requiem Mass in D Minor in its entirety) and with Verdi at a close second. My favorite colluratura is Leontyne Price and Lucia Popp holds a close second. As for the men, Mario Lanza's voice makes me swoon and then there are everyone's favorite 3 Tenors. Pavarotti, Domingo and Carreras. And close to my heart is Mario Lisanti although I can no longer find anything on YouTube about him I know he also coached Phoebe Snow. ( I absolutely insisted that Lucia Popp's version of the Laudate Dominum was played at my wedding as my bridal party came down the aisle in church. I entered with my father as the "Amen" solo began singing from behind the doors ) the church thought I was crazy. It was a favorite piece of mine and I dedicated it to the souls that could not be there with me that day . many of them who had gone down that aisle before me laid to rest. My now ex-husband ever the punk rocker and death metal god still harasses me about that to this day LOL.
